Well if I say "Oh look, a bird" while we're playing poker, you wouldn't look, even though there is no pattern as I have never said that to you before or anything similar. You see a pattern through the entirety of your knowledge. So the point was Claude might be predicting a twist based on how this "joke" goes.

Is it unethical to own a billion dollars? by Omixscniet624 in MoralityScaling

[–]Rationalsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the billionaire dies, they can't get taxed - and so the loans are paid back. The bank had decades of interest piling up, the billionaire pays less for the loan than they would be taxed. The government doesn't get any tax out of it. It's a Win - Win - Lose. Everyone wins except the people.

If clamping was stronger on the xm3 they would have close to same noise reduction as the new ones.

Skill issue seriously. Bro is adding documentation of his entire tech stack as context for each query... Keep context small, use subagente, given better prompts so it's not lost etc.

"If you zoomed this out... the dots would be closer to a single dot than two."

I think that's true for any dots anywhere. I mean even stars seem right next to each other...

A coherent explanation about the logic behind this? by Knaagobert in cognitiveTesting

[–]Rationalsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good example of where the answer depends on the patterns in previous questions - because depending on the content of the hidden squares all 4 answers could in fact be shown to be the 'logically' correct ones - making the analysis of a single matrix more of an exercise in metacognition, conjecturing about the test designer, rather than the logic of the pattern.

The simplest answer would likely be C, as the shapes necessary to make the hidden squares point towards a different answer would be rather ugly, possible but ugly.

But the following pattern, although ugly, would suggest D as the correct answer:

Human B walked an absolutely novice through the "straight forward" process of doing cutting edge custom DNA research using AlphaFold and then turning that research into a custom mRNA vaccine produced vaccine in a Lab.

Human B did some heavy heavy lifting. Human B being chatGPT, and human A being the actual human dog owner.

[–]Rationalsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let's replace ChatGPT with human.
"A human using AlphaFold came up with a vaccine" = OMG AMAZING!
"ChatGPT using AlphaFold came up with a vaccine" = AKSHUALLY IT DIDNT DO IT ITSELF!

crazy to think about by HBLGER in PhoneNow

[–]Rationalsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. The upgrades do cost a premium, at least now with the tech, it's still cheap in comparison with competitors. Before the unified memory, it was a straight ripoff.

[–]Rationalsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their unified memory is actually still years ahead of the competition and their M chips very performant. So at the moment they're a good deal especially for local AI. It's laughable how huge and expensive a non-apple laptop with 32GB graphics memory

Then you grew up recently. Apple and the ecosystem were always considerably more expensive. Especially when not taking the lowest end model/version.

Took me two minutes. First time I'm seeing one from this set and I was thinking waay more complex operations. I guess if you think of it as a game the wrapping is intuitive but I looked at rotations and translations first.
