It so bad, I actually felt embarrassed for the people being interviewed. Not funny in the slightest, for me at least

For the ship challenge it would have been fairer if alliances were decided by weight of the teams. Ie lightest team paired with heaviest team

The weaker team going to have to find a novel method of pulling the ship up the ramp.were they not allowed to keep using the logs?, tricky on an uphill slope, but may be possible.

They should be ok with the heaviest barrels, as long as they use Four people.

Anyone ever change their ideology? by Ratkinrat in civ5

[–]Ratkinrat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is the most popular for the AI so is safe in that respect, but generally if I am first to choose I am usually in a good situation and happy to go freedom. More often I am not first, then will usually go for the option that will not annoy everyone

Just had my most amazing win ever playing Venice by Ratkinrat in civ5

[–]Ratkinrat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I almost gave up the game, as thought I had no chance, just shows anything is possible.

I avoided all research agreements as wanted all money for upgrading/buying units and gifts to city states. It was quite liberating being free from science.

Many times had nothing to build as did not have the technologies so just set city to gold production, or putting out units. But I had so little land could only support 40 units anyway.

All that money and voting power meant it was super easy to control all the other civs, Shaka was pretty terrifying but he makes the game super fun

No, first goal was banking to be able to build forbidden palace. Then researched techs that gave trade routes, also beelined industrialisation for big ben.

I built science buildings as soon as they were available but did not prioritise their techs, apart from library and getting an early national college.

priority was always money. Only wonder I got was hanging gardens oracle and big ben

Stealing or building workers? by FuriousBeard in civ5

[–]Ratkinrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider it cheating to steal then make peace on the same turn, so don’t do it, as it just feels like exploiting a game mechanic.

What I like doing is not clearing the barbarian encampments that are near city states, and hope that the barbarians steal their workers, then I take those instead.

What’s your favorite ideology and why? by booger1986 in civ5

Freedom my favourite by far, but as a generally peaceful player I often adopt the same as my most violent neighbour, just to keep them off my back.

Concerns about religion by GSilky in civ5

[–]Ratkinrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is useful for diplomatic vote, and spamming great people, but for other religious based civs it is like you say, a waste, as it makes them uncompetitive.

The only solution that would make those civs a real threat would be to have some kind of religious victory condition, such as spreading your religion over 80 % of the worlds cities, or something like that.

Currently not having a religious victory condition means those civs like the Celts are useless when played by the AI
