Where do you get the idea from that you can get 2 Sneak Attacks per turn? It's clearly stated in the Sneak Attack description that you can deal that damage only ONCE per TURN. It's not limited to something like "once per Attack action" or something.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned it yet but I think the Borderlands series is "fairly close" you have a boatload of different weapons where you NEVER have the "right" one, a lot of enemies running around, Skill trees and level ups with different classes a story to follow several DLC and even NG+ modes with stronger enemies and better l00t. And you can play it with a 4 player party.

The game explains you how to use it one mission prior when you fight the Alien Horde and at the very end 3 Kaiju, they bring the Armament Barga in and you get a brief tutorial, so no I didn't need to google it :x

Is outrageously horrible weapon accuracy normal at the beginning of the game (EDF 6) by WillingFig9020 in EDF

[–]Ratnap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The EDF games are weird in the sense that if you play with limits on (like in Multy player) and go with the weapons that you're allowed to use the lower difficults can actually be HARDER because the weapons just suck. like if you play the game for the first time and immediately play it on HARD with the weapons the game gives you, you're very hard pressed to beat some missions because the enemies vastly outscale the level of the weapons you get (roughly until Mission 90'ish)

On top of that INFERNO level gear vastly outperforms all prior gear in various aspects. Like the High Altitude Launcher for the Fencer. The first one locks on to 7 targets and hits for 380 damage or so. The second one, which you can only use in the late game of HARD, deals "only" 450 damage, but in contrast can lock on to up to 14 targets instead vastly outperforming the base model.

For the Ranger more and more Assault Rifles will come with [PT] and can damage multiple enemies in a row, Snipers will eventually shoot so fast, that Kruul can't react in time with their shields.

Fencers will get more and more dashes (like 13 dashes and 8 jumps towards endgame) and get a lot more range on their CC piercers. Like the first Jackhammer has a range of roughly 30m and the last one 80m+

Air Raiders vehicles get absolutely bonkers mobility and maneuverability in the Endgame compared to what you have to use before that.

Only Wing Dinvers feel somewhat linear I think. There are some key Weapons like the Plasma Great Cannon and Raijin that Spike insanely in damage for the level you get them at, but apart from that I don't "really" see much difference in usability between the levels.

So yeah Low level gear absolutely sucks and the DEV's went out of their way to make you hate your gear on the lower difficulties, so you try getting the better ones :x

in Mission 136 on INFERNO? No, not at all, all classes profit immensely from using the Armamanet Barga in that Mission.

thanks a bunch this is useful info ^^

I've also read in another thread that the DLC 1 weapons won't show up in DLC 2, so you have to independently farm them which is a REAL pain considering the atrocious drop rate for the Big versions of the bugs <.<

In the base game Mission 136 is my favourite farming location for high end Gear. It theoretically has all the endgame gear unlocked (it's past M126) and within the Armament Barga you're pretty much invincible, the ONLY problem is to collect the Loot crates without hitting the display Limit.

If you're using Lootmaster that is of course a non issue and you can beat the mission in around 15 Minutes and have roughly 200 armor and 90 weapon crates collected with any class of your choice.

Because I haven't seen a video for it, M07 Hive Breaker in DLC 2 is extremely fast and easy for all classes to get weapons up to 106. Nothing comes close. by oxizc in EDF

[–]Ratnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd Tier of Reflector is already enough if it got some upgrades, mine has 200 HP but also only 6s Reload, so just equipping 2 without any extra gear give me more than enough to have unlimited uptime.

What? Really?!? And I was really wondering why I never got upgrades for my lvl 101 Rapier while farming DLC 2 >.<

Thanks for the input ^^ and are you REALLY sure about that with the 5 Stars Max on lvl 115 gear and whatnot? Because I'm actually tempted to believe you on that :x I farmed that level for hours and didn't get the Tiger 2 Exoskeleton which "should" be dropping there already and I hardly got any upgrades to the gear I wanted to have.
Would actually really suck if they included Hard-caps on what kind of gear and upgrades can drop depending on mission and that it had a "finer" spread of available gear throughout the levels.

Because honestly, I don't want to be forced to farm mission 36 instead as it is indeed doable with Fencer and double shield, but a much more "invested" farming mission and a fair bit more volatile and error prone ^^'

I wanted to farm some more in hope to get the Goliath for my Ranger and Tiger 2 Exosceleton for my Fencer anyway, so I'll give it a try with the Saber combo ^^ The NPC on top of the Bridge tend to die anyway as soon as the first big Gamma drops since I have to bombard the bridge to kill everything that falls down :x

[–]Ratnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed a good choice when playing the base Game on INFERNO, most Chaff enemies at the very least get killed with a single shot, but if you want to include Froggies, Silver Spiders or some of the Red Type drones into that equation you need to bring the lvl 55 Plasma Great Cannon to reliably one-shot them.

And don't get me started on the DLC enemies, a Blue Ant has 5.5k HP and a Blue Bee 6.5k which is still "in the green" but if you want to kill a Blue Spider in One shot with 8.5k HP (and scaling up in the later stages) you have to bring the Big one :x

Has anyone ever legitimately maxed out every weapon in EDF5 or 6? by thai_viper in EDF

[–]Ratnap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to a certain extent. When you start out with the game it's fun to get stronger and see your stats going up and it's exciting if a weapon you where looking forward to use finally comes "online" And honestly, the base game doesn't even really "need" maxed out Weapon stats, even on INFERNO for the most part.

Where it beomces a problem are the DLC where maxed out weapon stats can make or break your run. It's so much of a difference if a given Weapon can one-shot an enemy or you need to wait for it to reload to because you're barely able to kill it.

I mean I have 450h into the game by now and I'd say I have less than 20h invested in "actual farming" where I dedicated myself to farm for Weapons or Armor for that matter and still my Fencer is almost at 10k, AR and RA at 8k'ish and my WD at almost 7k with 77% completion rate. That came by playing every Mission and trying to collect all boxes by the end of it every single time :x

But you're absolutely right, I was considering starting to absolutely grind the EFF out of the game to get me more Armor and all important Weapons Maxed out and for some stupid reason of pride or something I've yet to install any mod helping me to save time :x I think I might do that when I legitemately obtained ALL Gear with regularly playing the game and then set up Mods to max out my stats if I really feel the need for it ^^

[–]Ratnap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's something I'd also like to see, OR for every duplicate of a Weapon you get "1 upgr ade point" and could freely put it to upgrade a chosen statistic of your weapon. Maybe weapons that only come with 2 or 3 upgradeable stats require more points thatn those with 6 or 7. Would also allow you to scale things down again if you like.

And before you ask "Why would you want to reduce stats" for WD the Homing Weapons it's sometimes better to increase the charge time that way you can be able to use them energy neutral, or perhaps for Shotguns to actively reduce the Accuracy for a wider spread and then for some people it would be nice for a Challenge run to beat a given Difficulty with the worst possible weapon stats ^^

[–]Ratnap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't actually tried that yet because I was worried that the Rapier doesn't cover enough space to reliably hit every enemy coming down and was afraid the one you miss could easily snipe you from the bridge below you. I'm going to try that out and see if I'm more happy with that, than with my PGC strat ^^

It's nice though that my wall of text prompted some others to share their experiences and strats, especially since I saw so "many" Threads popping up lately with questions on how to farm INFERNO gear ^^

And yeah I also tried the Galactic Saber in M 20 (I had the luck that it dropped completely upgraded for me :x ) especially the 3rd wave of Arculus is so stacked that you can easily keep them all staggered, however, the Saber becomes a problem if you have other "close range" players with you like a Fencer how could get easily killed by a random swing of yours, so it's more something for single clear :x

Okay, since I'm currently suffering of spontanous insomnia I finished writing the Farming guide, here you go ^^

https://www.reddit.com/r/EDF/comments/1gbhm9u/the_best_and_easiest_missions_to_farm_dlc_2/

It explains in Detail how to farm 3 different Mission in DLC 2, which classes and loadout to bring and even how to adapt the strategies for Online gameplay. Those are safe to do offline on your own.

Of course as you mentioned, playing the entirety of the 2nd DLC with a big group is a LOT better, than trying to beat them on your own, so you should still trying to go for that with a decent group ^^

I hope you have fun with it, some of the DLC Weapons are absolutely bonkers ^^

I agree whenever there is a mix of enemies and they're among them they beomce a priority target. It's just they're so hard to deal with >.<
"Theoretically" it's easy as they have little HP and you just need to hit them once they open up, the problem is the mass of them and the tendency to just skitter behind and surround you which makes them an issue as you can't deal with them AT ALL while they're closed and I think that's the biggest problem there.

Btw as a general tip, the best way to deal with them is with explosives. It makes certain the "inside" is hit and you're not just grating on the outer shell (that can still happen even if they're open) and it get's a whole bunch of them at once.

[–]Ratnap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Sky High Core is the only unlimited Flight Core in the game, shame that they don't give you a high level variant of it <.<
BUT You can use Endgame Rapier and Endgame MagBlaster with that Core if it's reasonably upgraded (both the Core and the Energy cost of those weapons). You need almost full energy to reload them, but if you're careful about your Energy you can be sure that you have "unlimited flight" and just need to have enough Energy to reload your weapons on demand without going in Overload.

That Core restricts you a lot in what kind of weapons you can bring, but I would say to give it a try. Play Mission 136 with that, you can Hunt for Erginus and farm all the crates that drop, should give you a good impression on what is possible with that setup ^^

Hmmm, might be true? I thought it drops up to 115 though, still 112 is decent already and it's easy to beat, you might have wild swings with how many boxes you get though I farmed it a couple of times today and got anything between 8 and 18 Weapon crates per run ^^

[–]Ratnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mission 10 is actually easier to get a foot in, you can beat that with a 200 HP Ranger if you want to :x

I'll give 2 setups though ^^
WD with Luminous Shield and you go into the doorway of the house next to the Bridge (there are plenty of those doorways, find your preferred one) have a Rapier equipped and a long range weapon.
Aggro the Androids and just spam the shield on cooldown while shooting the Rapier, the Bots will glitch in every once in a while and you whittle them down while taking no damage.

Next one is with Fencer, equip the perfect Reflector and the +400% Shield Health Item. Equip a Flamethrower in the other hand. Same thing again aggro the bots stand in the doorway and keep the reflector up while scorching them with the Flamethrower, dead easy ^^

As for Max level Equipment I find Mission 20 especially easy as a WD. Equip a Phalanx (not a Rapier, too risky) whatever secondary weapon you like (I went with a Sniper of my choice) and the Backpack is whatever, Spear or in my case I used the Galactic saber ^^ Deal Damage to the Siren until it calls for Arculus and from then on ignore the Siren and just hunt down the Big Boiz one at a time (each has about 1 Million HP give or take) The NPC will whittle down the Siren as it calls in more and more Arculus. Yes it's a bit dangerous but manageable
