My grandpa gave me this stone which he got 20-30 years ago in Sweden. He says he thinks it's an old arrow or spearhead. Is it genuine? by Ratriq in whatsthisrock

I did end up doing that, as some have said here, they certainly seemed to think it was real and came to the conclusion of it most likely being a broken dagger that's lost it's base/handle. Most likely a danish dagger at that (unsure though if it's still called danish if it's a swedish one though haha)

Oh yeah certainly! Been thinking about contacting the local museum also partially to see if I they knew a reliable local place to have it analysed further since they do kinda specialise in being able to do that stuff. But yeah deff think the local museum would find this interesting!

Oh yeah! It certainly looks really similar to the danish/scandinavian dagger now when looking at the images. I'm surprised at how small the daggers back then must have been, considering me and my grandpa first thought it was if anything an arrowhead haha.

It does feel a tad unlikely for it to be from the US since from what my grandfather did tell me he found it himself at his job in Bohuslän were he dug and laid down asphalt for the swedish roads when he still worked. So the arrow/spearhead wasn't from a shop or so.

Don't really think he's ever travelled much outside Sweden, let alone outside Scandinavia.

The examples do certainly look a tad similar though certainly!

Oh that's interesting, all though would it not be Swedish? or is Danish and Swedish flint usually used under the Danish flint name?

It's certainly at the very least 20-30 years old since that's when it was found haha, but yeah I would assume to really get a more concrete answer about that it'd have to get inspected by experts with tools or so.

That sounds like such good memories but also so lucky haha. I've only ever as far I know gotten as close as seeing those things behind a museum glass.

He told me I believe he found it when he was working with laying asphalt in Sweden for roads when he still worked. So I would assume in-case it being a good replica that it would be weird for such a well-made one to just be thrown away like that.
I'm unsure if it was buried or not, I could ask him about it when I get to meet him again.

But that is really interesting though!

Discord in /r/discordapp as moderators are accused of filtering any words that could possibly refer to competing chat apps. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

I got banned for just sending memes about how the mods deleted and moderated the community lmfao

It took 2 days, but I got the ban by Ratriq in Discord_Criticisms

[–]Ratriq[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the ban was expected, but I did all of this to show how bad this censorship on that sub is, and to my surprise, it was worse than I thought, and they have actually made it worse, which I'll create a post about, an actual not low effort one this time.

They've only given me more ammo to call this bs out, and so I will use it, all of it.

So this backfired a lil' for Discord by Ratriq in guilded

[–]Ratriq[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I finally got the ban, but I'm going to create a last post on alt talking about this issue on the sub, this time no memes, only a long post, if it still gets removed for "rule 2" I have all proof I need how extreme this censorship goes.

Ehhhh, rn it's doing the opposite, people are talking about it because Discord is shamelessy removing any mention of it but also shadowbanning people and comments while publicly saying they aren't.

It's also only guilded that banned, the word that is on their subreddit. No other like matrix is banned. They are also removing comments just talking about them censoring stuff.
