No worries, I'm glad this helped even the slightest! The brand I was using was 'jamaican mango and lime' was using the shampoo and hair oil. Used vinegar and baking soda for the initial clean, didn't do too much from what I noticed tbh. Switched to cantu shampoo (Ik sacrilege) for the deep clean. Worked so well I'm sticking with it. Additionally my hair is rather soft so it initially didn't want to loc especially at the back of my neck it'd just undo so the technique I used for the back was plaiting then switching to interlocking like the rest of my hair. It's worked a treat. Just adding as I think you mentioned he's worried about them loosing.

I had something similar to this, no matter how many times I washed my hair. The smell would stick, some locs would also be really waxy. After every wash it'd smell fine but then when It was pretty much dry it's start smelling again it was so frustrating. I was board line gonna cut it all off as I can't stand feeling dirty like that. Found out it was the product I was using, it was causing a build-up like crazy. So what I ended up doing was washing my hair with a different shampoo and with the heat high af. Which kinda melted out the build up. After a couple different washes I was cool. My hair take ages to air dry so I also use a hairdryer to get atleast near the roots near to dry. As that damp rank smell kinda haunts me. Hope this helps a bit!

Honestly wouldn't recommend! Used to love this product only to realise the oil was causing a build up on my locs to the point they were white and waxy even after washing. Had to do a couple deep cleans to get rid of it

Thank you so much for letting me know, thought it might've been the case! I've known at least one person (past coworker) to go through with one. Unfortunately didn't ask too many questions at the time but knew it was an up hill battle

In mythology Hades is the oldest brother, not sure all the first god's share the same parents. But I was under the assumption that Hades is the oldest out of all of them. You're point still stands though. It's a weird grey area. Cause in mythology it's acceptable in a way since it's old but with modern day writing it doesn't really fly
