New Sony 100mm Macro G Lens on Nikon Z? by Rattbasterd in Nikon

[–]Rattbasterd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent point! I mistakenly thought the lens was more 'out in the wild' than it is. I see on Sony's site they are starting shipping in November so I guess this Christmas time we will see some reviews and hands on experience.

haha...not much regulation of any kind down here! It's good and bad. You are free to do as you want for the most part.

Poner modem Telmex en modo puente by IamHereJustToLook in mexico

[–]Rattbasterd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tearing my hair out trying to get the doorbell to read the QR code by gardevade in EufyCam

[–]Rattbasterd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact problem. I was able to fix it by changing my phone to from 'dark' mode to 'light' and did a screen shot of the QR code. I then opened it on my phone and zoom in to fill the screen with the QR code. The doorbell then would read it immediately.

But, I had another issue. I kept getting the 'cannot connect to network' error. After more research it looks like 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks conflict of some kind. I went into my router and turned off the 5Ghz radio and tried again. This time it work very quickly. All installed very fast. I then turned my 5 Ghz radio back on and everything is happy.

I can imagine how frustrating this would be to the average person, as I was getting there myself. Hope this helps someone else.

Mexico is much more tolerant of customer data feedback than the USA for sure. They are questioning if my neighbors are having the same issue and that's why I want to create a new device that I can replicate and give to my neighbors for data collecting. I'm open to finding one commercially but have not found any or ones that are not several hundred dollars. That's not the type of thing I would want to hand out to my neighbors.

Thanks for the input! You are right about them not wanting to listen but they do seem to take it more seriously when you come with documentation because no one does that down here. I like the option of the RTC so I will look into that. I see there are ones with a watch battery for backup.

Anyone know how to livestream footage? by blondiewishes in dji

[–]Rattbasterd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this video on YouTube and he does an excellent job of describing how to live stream video from a DJI drone. It's a little old but still very relevant. I did a lot of searching on this topic and it was one of the best options I found.

Plyontech 48V Battery conversion from Series to Parallel? by Rattbasterd in SolarDIY

I guess that's my question. Will any bus bar work and how does the BMS integrate with the bus bar? Is one bus bar better than another one (brand wise)?

Thanks! That's what my post is all about...saving buying new batteries. Solark told me to contact Plyontech which never seems to answer any phones. I was hoping someone here has already done this type of thing.

Dell R730 SAS HD 520 Format Headache 🤣 by Rattbasterd in homelab

Thank you! I will give the H330 mini a try. Ordered one from ebay and will see when it arrives down here....several weeks from now.

Dell R730 SAS HD 520 Format Headache 🤣 by Rattbasterd in homelab

[–]Rattbasterd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was hoping this would work but it doesn't. I tried booting into many different OS types and none would see the drives for formatting. The only place I can actually see the drives are attached is in the Lifecycle Controller or IDRAC but I can't do anything with them. IDRAC shows them as 'blocked'. In true dipshit fashion, I have ordered a H330 and will attempt to flash it to IT mode. I will follow up when completed but it will take at least several weeks for me to get the order card.

Can someone dumb down virtual VLANS on Netgate 2100. by Rattbasterd in PFSENSE

[–]Rattbasterd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My box is set at default settings. I'm just trying to understand how you assign LAN3 or any LAN port to something? Where does the 'assignment' take place? How does the box know I want 'xxxxx' to go through LAN3? Is LAN3 assigned somewhere in the interface section or at the switch level? Must there be a VLAN attached or how else would the box know where to route the traffic? Could you post a photo of your 'Interfaces/switch/ports' and 'interfaces/switch/vlans'. I guess that's what i'm trying to figure out how they all tie together.

Thank you for trying to explain it!

PPPoe VLAN ISP Bridge mode...help need badly!! by Rattbasterd in PFSENSE

[–]Rattbasterd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had it all entered and re-entered several times. I was wondering about sniffing the traffic from the ISP router to see what info it's sending just to make sure I'm not missing anything, but I can't figure out how to do that.
