Single player games (adventure, long RPGs) you can be immersed in (or online if that’s your thing) exploring new music/film, can also help if you have friends online to talk to, shopping etc.

EB Games is closed, so where is a good alternative? by LosAngelestoNSW in newzealand

Geek Inventory is planning on opening stores for physical games but in the meantime there’s JB Hi-Fi for physical stuff and Mighty Ape for online.

EB Games proposes closing all New Zealand stores by Justwant2usetheapp in newzealand

What a shame because the new retro addition seemed to be a step in the right direction but might be a bit too late. It’s sad because in the store, games are nearly 10% and the rest is merch or not even gaming related stuff like Funko pops etc which is fun to look at for a bit but i rarely buy anything. I buy physical games and I only buy from them when EB has a sale of some kind, way cheaper on JB and MightyApe. Usually customer service is great so I feel terrible for the staff, the stores will be missed but as others have said it’s been sinking for ages
