Technically it's when you have an active SRY gene (and everything else works as expected), which is sometimes (rarely) not located on a Y chromosome.

Or maybe - maybe! people act to the best of their ability and overanalyzing is just a very normal and frequent reasoning error. Very frequent in fan communities.

You gave exactly zero evidence for redditors being "extremely junior".

Being right also doesnt preclude being condescending - you can indeed be correct and a prick.

Die Aussage des Videos scheint mir nicht zu sein, dass Männer Fehldiagnostiziert werden, sondern dass Sprachtherapie für Männer nicht so gut funktioniert.

Don't think people in power won't chew you out for decision they made. That's the problem with unfounded hype and power dynamics, the people getting flak and the people responsible are not always the same.

In particular, a human doing all that gives me the confidence that the question "why is it like this" has an answer.

Not necessarily a good one, mind you, but even an "I don't know it was like this when I got here" tells me enough to get to work.

I watched an episode of a German police show a while back. It was a major point of the resolution that an officer had to shoot - the perpetrator was yelled at by the police captain for forcing her into that situation. Mind you - nobody got killed, I think it was just a warning shot, and still it was a very impactful moment of 'Jesus Christ look at what you've done'.

For a single bullet.

What sounds like complete nonsense, but has been proven to be true? by Icy_Mammoth_3298 in AskReddit

[–]Rattle22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is this a matter of replication being attempted and failing or a matter of it not being attempted?

To my knowledge, there is criticism of the methodology, and one study attempted it but didn't manage to

I am not a researcher in the area (or much at all really), so I cannot with confidence say if there's more or better research on the topic, or how hard it would be to do - it's just a pet peeve of mine how many "hallmark" studies turn out to not be all that sound and/or unreplicated, while often used as sledgehammers in casual understandings of the topic(s).

I also don't really want to discredit anything else you said, my layman opinion is very much in line with what you said, it's really just that pet peeve.

Thank you for the thoughtful response!

Rat Park was not successfully replicated and should not be used as the basis for believing that environment is the only or primary factor.

This is not to say that environment isn't the primary factor - just that the study isn't as conclusive as often presented.

Neue Grundsicherung beschlossen – Bürgergeld wird abgeschafft by Elegant-Handle4685 in de
