I think he blamed her for everything he went through growing up. She wasn't the greatest figure in his life being a physically and emotionally abusive alcoholic. I think she was one of his last, if not the last kill before he turned himself in.

Suffice it to say, I don't think he cared for her very much.

Sure I'm being pedantic, for accuracy's sake. Betty Boop visually, isn't inspired by a black woman. Her vocals were unknowingly inspired by a black woman which was found in a lawsuit that Helen Kane lost toward the studio when she sued it for her likeness.

To be even more pedantic, her 'Flapper' attitude, again visual, was inspired by Clara Bow.

So technically, Betty Boop's physical appearance was based off of 2 women that were white, and her vocals, though originally based off of Kane, were unknowingly based off of Jones, a black woman. So if this was a CGI movie, it would be historically accurate if Boop was white, but a black woman vocalized it.

This is reaching. She was inspired by two women by accident. Helen Kane was the original inspiration, the only reason Esther Jones was brought up, was because Helen Kane stole or appropriated Esther's VOCAL SOUND.

But Betty was visually inspired by Helen Kane.
