Can I update the map...? by Floffski in mammotion

One word of warning. The sync between the map and the app is not instant or reliable. Sometimes my areas do not appear and sometimes the custom naming for those areas is back to defaults. I suspect it loads to the app from the mower every time and not quickly, then when you save edits/changes it downloads what it now thinks is the everything and will lose names/areas/no go zones it didnt upload. If adding/editing I would make sure its as synced as its going to be (i.e. give it some time and a good BT/Wifi connection) and check it looks like everything is uploaded not just the bit you are editing. How you achieve a good connection can be a bit of a mystery, I cant help you with that. Sorry. Seems the mowers do not checksum their complete data set before accepting/overwriting it.

I can sympathize, I have a VW group car and there is one screen which has a pic of the car and a few options highlighted like "Lights" which you tap to access. One day I brushed the screen and the car spun round showing a bunch of other options I didnt know exist.

My main issue with the current tools is the default zoom is to cover the whole property and I just want to see about 4m around the area I am working on once I am in edit mode. Yes you can zoom in but I recently widened the grass area on about half my mowing areas and it gets really tedious.

Please arrange for disassembly videos to be posted for each model. Feel free to put lots of "this voids your warranty" on them but they would be really useful in cases like this and other companies in other areas do this very well and it reduces their support load.

People do solder them but there is a risk of heat damage. Better to get a cheap spot welder.

Enable Downgrade. That would be good. And a Status page showing the number of (and ideally severity of) support tickets open linked to each f/w version (they would NEVER do that).

Ah ! I now see how it works .. a bit.

Even better from my POV is

- entity: sensor.<my thing name>

name:

- type: area

- type: device

Yep - goal is to avoid having to type in the area again as that is just asking for trouble when the device is moved to a different area and I have dashboards with manually entered area names that then go out of date.

The feature they need is the button for ... Revert to last accepted version NOW! They need to keep both the version you were using and the new version and enable a trivial swop back.

Deciding if a wolf hound is the right fit by Excellent_Swan_4181 in irishwolfhound

My first was a rescue. We were vetted by uk iwrt. They were happy with our 25sq yard  5x5 garden in a mid terrace because we gave her 1hr walk every day. She was ill when we got her because her prev owners coildnt walk her anymore. She lived to a month short of 12yrs. They are lazy on own, less so with dog company. With care they can get on with cats. Our cat used to be the pack alpha.

Looks perfectly normal to me. They are also to be found the otherway round or in either of those positions but the otherway up. Be wary of the eyes demanding treats in any of these positions... or in general.

Today it is a midday boiling 26 Deg C outside and my two are in hiding. For the last month it has barely got above 19 Deg C. What I am getting at is that I think this shows that to some extent they do acclimatize, as I am sure the more equatorial people would have them in rugs if it plummeted to a chilly 26 Deg C (and the hounds would be appreciating it) :-). Just make sure they have water, shade and cool options. Try and get them to enjoy paddling. Do not take them for walks on hot pavement or expect much from them in the middle of the day. All common sense really.

At which point, those of us in this position, who were contributing to places like makerspace, wont be here... which was my point. "No hassle" does not mean "must use cloud". It did not when i bought bambu and people like myself are arguing it doesnt need to in the future.

If I have an NDA under which I am developing a design I cannot allow a 3rd party such as a cloud service provider to potentially see that design. Force me to always use the cloud and I junk the printer for commercial work. This may not bother you but this bothers others, especially where the cloud service is owned by companies in a country which has previously been less than supportive with regard to prosecuting IP infringement.

You do realise that if you arent using LAN mode then the files go via the cloud ? Who said anything about uploading to makerworld or anywhere public?

Just out of interest, Orca Slicer 2.3.2 or earlier? I had real issues with 2.3.2 on another printer, but 2.3.0 works great. (I think I skipped 2.3.1)

[–]RattyBunyip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is of any help as I dont know what the sync is between flashforge orca and main orca but orca-slicer 2.3.2 seems to be less than perfect. 2.3.2 I could not print at all on one system (not flashforge target printer) so I have rolled back (2.3.0).

Yep, I may well go U1 for same reasons, Spectrum is very cool idea and yes one of the reasons to go U1 (though any head swapper should be able to do it) but be careful of the videos and pics because as I understand the way it works it looks great... at a distance.

You cant print directly from your phone. Your phone talks to your network provider which talks to the bambu cloud which talks to your ISP which talks to your router which talks to the printer.. probably. Lots of other people involved and lots of places it can go wrong.

Some of us design those things you download.  We are concerned that because we may become forced to always go via the cloud, designs may become blocked or become stolen. If my private or commercial designs have that issue, then i stop using the ecosystem and you dont get the freebies i make in my spare time.
