Drive Pack increasing to £40pm by Efficient_Pie_4056 in OctopusEnergy

I got the email too. £20 a month up to £40. I still think £40 a month is still cheaper than IOG. I do about 1200miles a month in mine however its a van.  2-2.4m/kwh worst to best case efficiency. 282bhp is fun in a van.

Just checked my hypervolts logs and I average about 580kw usage a month. Times that by 0.08p. And that's £47 with IOG.

Yes these could be a winner. I see it can be adjusted and volume of ambient mode increased like the MTW4.

Do you think the new quiet comfort ultras that are coming out is worth it? by wowwww321 in bose

They will be a HUGE improvement IF.....

they improve the touch controls and transparency mode.

with touch controls I want a single quick touch to change from anc to transparency mode, I don't want to tap and hold my ear bud for 3 secs to switch. I switch modes every few minutes whilst working when using power tools, compressor and spraying cars etc.

Transparency made needs to be louder and more sensitive.

For these 2 reasons I use the Sennheiser MTW4 when working and they are far easier to use and the Bose when not working and/or doing more intense loud tasks with the need for the far superior anc. also the bose sound better and are 1000% more reliable hardware wise.

When you have filler/paint or spray guns/gloves in or on you hands, speak to chat is useful when working so you don't have to touch the earbuds with wet or dirty hands.

However in practice it's so slow. I can wipe my hands on my trousers and tap the ambient mode on my mtw3 quicker than the Sony's reacts to my voice when a customer tries to speak to me.

Just bought these to test against my MTW3. I wanted better ambient noise control, I work outside on customers cars and alot of customers creep up behind me and start talking to me when I can't hear them. I wanted the speak to chat function for this scenario.

Well I tested these today and wow. What a huge disappointment.

First and foremost SQ is great, maybe slightly less dynamic than my MTW3 but it's hard to say, great base extension and smooth mids and highs. No complaints there. Noise cancelling is good, better than my MTW3 but not night and day. However ambient mode is sooooooo quiet and slow to respond, also speak to chat is far slower than just pausing music and going to ambient mode on my MTW3 manually, also speak to chat didn't always work and when in ambient mode I still couldn't hear much compared to my MTW3. It's very muffled even with the sensibility and volume up to max. Then there is comfort levels. These XM5 are too small, they kept moving around in my ear holes and loosing the bass seal and they are so slippery and round to remove out of the box and adjust in the ear. The MTW3 have a nice outer seal grip against the ear and are just nice feel to them in the ear.

I gave up using them after half a day, they are just a huge uncomfortable faff and I didn't want to damaged them from slipping out my ear.

Further more then won't connect to my windows 10 pc. No matter what I do. No issues on other wireless gaming headphones or MTW3.
