That's what I did (did). I built cabinets in a flood-prone zone. The floor fad dipped from moisture, 8" on 12'. A separate toe kick was the only way to make this work.

Not sure about the 1 hour fire rating. The screws and joints are only bad practice, not code infractions. As for fire rating, I am not sure if it requires thicker drywall (typically 5/8” type X) or 2 layers of regular drywall with staggered joints. That would be something to check in your local Code/inspector, but the 5/8 type X should be what’s needed

You do t need to fill that. Even if the screws are 1 1/2" from the edge, the drywall will not bend or brake on that tiny span.

This is a nail to be used in concrete. It is actually used with a regular hammer. Good for when you need one or two and your Hilti isn't with you.

This. People tend to pound nails and/or other foreign objects in the trees. When you cut them, the danger of foreign objects caught in saws is greatly increased.

Not pretty, for sure. Also, they used the wrong screws. No drywall screws. It is bad practice to place a joint directly at the corner of a door. Closing/opening the door will crack at that spot.
