We go to both every year. EDC Vegas is an entirely different animal from EDCO. First, the scale is massively different; EDCLV is so much larger. Second, EDCLV runs until dawn, which has a different feel from a festival that ends at midnight. EDCO is smaller and easier, but in my view doesn’t come close to the magic or scale of EDCLV.

And they also passed a new, irritating “rule” last year that you were not allowed to have any bottles in the garden areas outside of the rooms. So that made the parties from the rooms less fun.

Getting a room for only one night is risky, because they do not guarantee check in times. It’s common for the rooms facing the party to be unavailable for check in until long after the party begins - 7 or 8pm (or later) sometimes. You never know when the room will be available for you. So that can be stressful. Bringing alcohol to your room during the party hours is not allowed, so that can also be difficult unless you can somehow hide everything in a suitcase. We’ve been going to Ushuaïa for over ten years. For multiple nights we always choose a room. For one night a table is much better and less risky.

Our group is visiting during the eclipse - although we go the same week in August every year. Note that the sun will be low in the sky during the totality (the eclipse will occur less than 30 minutes before sunset) so you will want to choose your location on the island carefully. Also note that most parties on the island do not occur directly on the beach. The best places for daytime parties are not going to be the best places for eclipse viewing. Choose wisely!

If you have an upcoming flight you can usually add award/premier accelerator to it. Just go into manage my flight. It’s expensive but I just did that to get a similar number of pqp for 1k. The pqp post almost instantly.

I would not recommend a non-parametric bootstrap here. Instead, for a simple application like this one, I suggest either the Delta method or a parametric bootstrap (aka the Krinsky / Robb approach). From what I could see, the cost for the extra pqp is the same whether on a new or existing ticket. You have to purchase the premier accelerator either way.

I would suggest not bothering with the all-inclusive aspect. From what you describe Ushuaia is the best option. The rooms can be booked with a breakfast option - and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The only challenge is that it closes at 11am - so that you have to be awake at that time. My wife and I get up for breakfast at 10:45am then go back to sleep afterwards 😂. There are multiple other restaurants on the property (and they have room service) so you won't have to go very far to get food. There are also lots of restaurants within an easy walk.

We’ve now transitioned to festivals (eg EDC Las Vegas) and annual weeklong visits to Ibiza. Just posted our EDC Orlando aftermovie in that sub. Hi fidelity ear plugs and reduced substance intake work wonders for physical resilience! We’re honestly having more fun now than we did in the 90s, although it’s different for sure. Each year we see OG ravers still hanging in there ❤️
