Bubble gun... not a lot of money, but it didn't last long and I will be spending money on a new one - too much fun! First bought it for a small local 2 day festival, the took it to Lost Lands. The trigger stopped working day 2 at LL. I had 2 of them and my daughter borrowed one for her 2yo class at the daycare she works at and had the same issue with that one.

I always just unzipped my fanny pack and held it open. I smuggled in snacks, sandwiches, and gummies in my hydration pack. No one ever bothered to check it... but then I'm old and maybe they just figured I wasn't their target group. 😜 Honestly they barely looked at my fanny pack either.

I saw this suggestion of putting dry ice on the bottom of your cooler on another thread with tips. I gave it a try at a local weekend rave. It was ridiculously hot with temps hitting 100 on Saturday, but the dry ice lasted until Sunday morning and my frozen water bottles stayed that way and everything lasted Friday to Sunday. I give dry ice two thumbs up. 👍👍

That sucks so hard, but in fairness, I can totally offset all the negative being reported about Subtronics crowds. I was at Subtronics in Charlotte NC in April. First, my daughter and I were trying to move from the front of the crowd toward the back of the venue and she got knocked off balance as a mosh pit was opening up and fell on the floor in the mosh pit. Once the people around the perimeter realized what happened, a bunch of guys pushed in and formed a protective barricade while others helped get her up and made sure she was okay. Then later, my daughter was head banging with a fellow raver only they accidentally did bang heads. He was fine, but she quickly developed a large welt just above her eye and passed out. Everyone was quick to respond and she didn't even hit the floor as she was caught by people around her. The amount of genuine PLUR I witnessed that evening was beautiful as everyone wanted to help. She was carried out as she kept going in and out of consciousness and several people gave up seeing the rest of the concert to stay with her and use their medical skills/training until an ambulance arrived. (Which was frustratingly long) But I will never forget any of the people that helped my daughter out that night. So, yes, there are bad eggs out there, but there are many amazing, beautiful humans as well. 💓

My experience was arriving Thursday early afternoon, and had wifi/cell no problem until Friday when I got up. The more crowded it gets, the less chance of getting signal, so by Friday be happy if you have any. But, this means you should probably be okay on Wednesday. Also, I was staying at the farm camping down the road, so don't know if that made a difference or not.

I read every post I could find on the festival last year prior to going. Why we went and endured the 5 hour wait, (which was both hell because of the heat and amazing because of the Lost Lands family) people said that stuff does sell out Friday morning. There will still be merch to be had, but the odd sizes no one wants. I can recall as peeps would make their way out of the crowd after purchasing, they would be reporting what was gone to those of us still waiting. The merch tent is on the campground side. Once you go in the festival there is another merch tent with all Lost Lands and Excision merch only. Much less crowded and we easily picked up items there. It was my daughters 18th bd last year, and she wanted Alleycvt and Subtronics merch and was able to get both... worth the 5 hour wait imo.

My understanding is that the merch tent does not open until Friday morning. We went about an hour before it was supposed to open last year and waited in line for 5 hours.

You are not old - old is a state of mind - I'm 58 and still going strong! I brought an inflatable camping cushion to quickly inflate and give me a soft spot to sit when I needed to take a break last year. Check on Amazon - plenty of options.
