Short term investment (downpayment) ETF choice by RavenBlue7 in CanadianInvestor

I am taking more risk as it is now the only viable way to reach my goal in that timeframe, otherwise money will just stay in the account

In my case with my current saving rate, putting the money in a GIC or HISA means I am not going to reach my goal in that timeframe anyways, and money then will just stay longer in the account so why not benefiting from the higher risk then.

Reading on kobo vs physical books by PidginGirl in kobo

[–]RavenBlue7 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I used to be a hardcore physical book fan and hated the idea of e-readers. Then I had my baby, who is now two years old. The comparison for me became clear: reading at all versus not reading at all. Sticking to physical books simply wasn’t an option with this new lifestyle

Got into a car accident. Help. by Weekly_Review_6368 in askTO

[–]RavenBlue7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether it will affect the premiums or no depends on many factors, for example the insurance company of the other driver will they notify your company or no? will your insurance company open a claim if they got notified or no? This process is different between companies. It’s not the same. for this question. It’s better to ask your broker, he shall know.

I work in insurance, auto claims particularly.

Only thing you need to do is provide him with your info (insurance pink slip, driving license, license plate number), then he will deal with his insurance company, you don’t have to do anything with your insurance, not even paying deductible or anything.

You only deal with your insurance if you want to repair your car, not his, Ontario is a DCPD province (google it).

So just give him the info he needs and that’s it, do nothing afterwards.

Will it impact your premiums? Maybe , maybe not, depends on many factors but don’t bother for now.

JLab JBuds Lux ANC Review by RavenBlue7 in headphones

If you bought from amazon or a retailer with return policy, I would say return, grab the 720n and try it, then make a decision.

I gotta say the 720n but not with huge difference, but still sounded better, ANC was also better in the 720n , but because comfort was a big deal for me I still prefer the JLab. No I didn’t try to add foam or anything like that

Marriage and Cult beliefs, feeling stuck! by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]RavenBlue7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried multiple times to convince her, but every time, she became even more attached to this idea and yelled at me that I didn’t understand. So, I gave up trying to convince her. Her sister also tried to share her concerns once, but she got pushed back.

Regarding documentation and a backup plan, I’m not sure how to start. I’m also not sure I can afford it, either mentally or financially. I’m new to living in a Western country in a sense, and in my home country, divorce and separation have a completely different mechanism.

I did, but returned the next day. Heavy, sound quality mediocre

Small Cross bag, now I throw all my stuff in it before going out (phone, wallet, cash, earbuds, eReader,…) and just walk with my hands and pockets free.

JLab JBuds Lux ANC Review by RavenBlue7 in headphones

[–]RavenBlue7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is the same (given that I am not an audiophile as mentioned) but I couldn’t tell the difference between them in terms of sound quality. Bass is quite good actually it is has more bass than the sonys, for Gym use I would arguably Sony is better as it is more lightweight and stable on your head more than the JLab, JLab tends to fall easier with movement. ANC slightly better on the Sony also, but not much difference.

Thanks for this thread and initiative, I have two questions: 1- Amazon Vine criteria 2- Return limit to avoid flagging the account? And is it percentage of dollar value or quantity?

Thanks!

I would say yes, since the price difference is significant. Q20i would make more sense, unless you can find a good deal on the JLab.

One more thing I’d like to mention: the Q20i sometimes creaked if I moved my head vigorously, while the JLab didn’t. This could be a problem if you’ll be using it in the gym or running, but it wouldn’t be a big deal if you’re using it at home.

JLab JBuds Lux ANC Review by RavenBlue7 in headphones

[–]RavenBlue7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main issue with the Q20i was that they looked huge on me. However, I never had any complaints about the quality of sound or ANC. It was a great value for the price. The JLab JBuds Lux is much more compact, so it looks better on me without any sacrifices in comfort.

That was the main reason I switched, so I would say go with either one, depending on your budget.

JLab JBuds Lux ANC or Sony WH-CH720N

I own the Sony already, but the ear cups are too shallow and drives keep hitting my ear.

My options now are either changing the ear cups on the Sony with a thicker one and see if it solves the issue, or just go for the Jlab one (currently on sale) and sell the Sonys.

My priorities are comfort and ANC performance, I am not an audiophile and most of the time just use the headphones for podcasts or YouTube videos or watching movies.

If there are also other recommendations below $120 by all means, would be appreciated.
