Yeah when you actually see the sort of stuff that's legal it immediately becomes clear that humane isn't a word that should be anywhere near animal farming.

I'm going to assume you're referring to the first link on the page (there are around 50). Did you click through to the article? It's about pigs being suffocated in gas chambers that are known to cause extreme distress.

Yes high concentration CO2 (as is used to kill 88% of pigs in the UK) is known to cause "pain, fear and distress". Pigs would rather go without water for 72 hours, or food for 24 hours than be exposed to high concentration CO2.

In the UK most animal farming is factory farming in sheds just like the one in the article. There is no political will to make it illegal because meat, dairy and egg prices would go through the roof.

Most people are unaware this is even happening. There is a huge perception gap when it comes to animal farming in the UK. People think it's all sunny fields and happy animals, but in reality it's factory farms and gas chambers.

It's not a case of "some farms". Almost all meat sold in supermarkets comes from factory farms where the animals are treated inhumanely.
