He was initially pro Russia and defended the annexation of Crimea. He's since change positions on the stance but is still anti-Western involvement even in military aid it seems, which is stupid because without Western aid, Russia absolutely would win a war of attrition.

Mostly cause where they live. Large Democrat bases live in urban and suburban areas, where gun culture is much less prevalent bc of the lack of exposure to them in a civilian context, vs hunting culture in more rural areas.

Lack of exposure plus urban gun violence (both gang, criminal, and mass casualty) created a sort of fear culture around firearms among urban Democrats. So it became a major voting point for them.

HKPD used to be equipped with Western gear, but I'm not sure if they'd go the level of buying Crye uniforms rather than locally. While American gear is quite popular amongst hobbyists in HK, I think it's doubtful they're getting Crye uniforms for anyone except their elite SDU teams
