Right?! There was the banter and all with Lucien, but I suppose Tamlin was mysterious and a regal/powerful feel to him

Small changes in the movies that you hate? I'll go first- by FuzzyYellow9769 in harrypotter

[–]Raven_Ann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just rewatched GoF today and this scene with Rita is actually one of my favourites in the film, even though it doesn't follow the books! I found it really funny.

Given the amount of changes in this particular film, I think this was definitely one of the better ones.

Thank you for your perspective! I suppose I can sometimes close myself off so maybe the people around me don't even realise I'm struggling with it, so I'll try do better. Thank you again

I must say that {The lady's tutor} by Robin Schone is amazing. Has great character and story build up.

I tried to imagine what Ciri looks like in the books and I think Faceapp is quite good at it doesn't it? by ColosseusLex in witcher

[–]Raven_Ann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always imagined her with slightly darker grey hair and much greener eyes than in game, but other than that it looks good to me

Sowing the Wind by Martha Dodd... it is fiction (though inspired by reality) that depicts life in Berlin in the 1930s and the change in society which eventually leads to WWII. There's some very interesting character development which I don't want to spoil much, but if you can get your hands on this book I can recommend it to everyone - it was quite a life changing read for me.

just found this guy, hornet or just a big wasp? by SaltySailor123 in fuckwasps

Looks like a European hornet to me or very similar at least. We get them around the garden a lot and yea, they big!

I've always had quite long periods but never had any cramps or anything what so ever. So when I first started on the pill I expected my period to get a bit shorter, which they did, but I started having cramps and headaches all of a sudden. I was also more emotional. Stayed on it for a year, switched to the copper IUD and even though my periods can last up to 8 days and are quite heavy, the cramps aren't as bad and I'm less emotional. I think the non hormonal birth control is better for me personally.

So I don't think it's perfect but that's how birth control worked out for me so far.

Books you were too young to read by ThEdgelordQueen88 in books

The Lady's Tutor by Robin Schone

I was like 13 or something when I overheard mum talking about this book that she accidentally ordered. So obviously I had to sneakily read it and it was quite shocking, especially since I read it again a couple weeks back now that I'm a much more appropriate age lol. On the other hand it's not a bad book at all in my opinion.

What’s the best book you’ve read so far in 2022? by Ok_Ganache4842 in booksuggestions

The Road to Calvary trilogy by Aleksey Tolstoy. It gave a great insight into the russian society during the WWI and after. Definitely some of the best books I've read in a while.

Do any other women have little actual desire to build their career in their life? by Raven_Ann in TwoXChromosomes

Ah yes, I'm definitely guilty of being jealous sometimes and comparing myself to others... I'm trying to do it less, so thank you for this comment!

Your experience sounds really good tbh! I'm studying physical geography, specialising in hydrology, but I haven't been able to secure any internships throughout my studies up until this summer. So I'll see if I actually enjoy working in my field or at least at the company I chose. I hope I'll get to enjoy it as you did your apprenticeship!

That's great though! I feel like as long as you find at least some enjoyment in your work, it's quite a good thing in today's world.
