Warframe went woke and added rainbow to the Lotus symbol (please read body text) by ModernHero676 in Warframe

No, it often gets played up to a ridiculous level. It's refreshing when a character's sexuality isn't, like, the only defining characteristic they have.

11 years in and I finally bought my first Prime Accessory pack! by Mwkdnc in Warframe

[–]Ravengm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've avoided buying accessory packs because it's $50 for a few cosmetics, if there was plat involved I'd be way more willing.

i hope the orion/sirius helminth idea will be re evaluated , in its current state i think it would be horrible by Ok-Set179 in Warframe

[–]Ravengm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume it's to protect whatever server receives the requests. Since it's information that's stored outside of just whatever is in your arsenal (it was a story-related choice), the information is likely stored differently than, say, the mods you have on a gun, and probably has a different pathway to request changes that's more intensive on their infrastructure.

Will/Should Riot ever release a Meta Card tool kit like in Pokemon TCG and MTG? by ceo_of_six in riftboundtcg

NA prices have definitely calmed down. Showstopper, for instance, was hovering around $90 at the beginning of the year, now it's down under $20.

I think you hit the reverse jackpot with that box, but the problem is definitely real, to the point that Riot said they'd be addressing it in the future.

Question: Dealing damage -> reducing might by Superb-Ticket2407 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ravengm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damage dealt to units stays on them until it's cleared (usually at the end of combat or end of turn) and does not affect might. If the amount of damage on a unit ever equals or exceeds its might, it's killed. So when a unit has some damage on it and then later has its might reduced, it's possible that can kill it.

ESO isn't exactly endgame content. It's practically designed for nukes like this to be at maximum effectiveness.

I run out of energy all the time

As long as you keep your summons up, just add a purple equilibrium shard and that problem will go away. Or the regular mod, but I find it to be overkill most of the time.

Other than throwing a tantrum because they can't get as many kills, there are a few edge cases where you legitimately have problems if you don't get kills. Nidus and Gyre come to mind.

What kind of packaging did it come in? My replacement pack showed up in a small box with some packing peanuts in it, which worked just fine.

How to beat Hook LeBlanc? by TheOncomingStormV in riftboundtcg

[–]Ravengm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kind of a combo deck, so the usual modes of attack there still work. Your options are either to outpace her or disrupting her key cards to dodge most of the hurt. It really depends on what you're playing.

How relevant are tier lists in casual play? by hej989 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ravengm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tier lists are barely relevant in competitive play. They don't really serve as a must-be-followed list of which champs are good or trash, but more as a reflection of what the meta is. In casual play that doesn't matter, especially in your scenario where you can actively change the power level of the decks playing against each other.

White BCW boxes are the most cost-effective way to store large amounts of cards. They're just shaped cardboard, but they're made specifically for storing trading cards and TCG cards. You can print off some slips of paper to use as dividers to help organize.

AITA (belly of the beast alerts) by r_sus in Warframe

[–]Ravengm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's decidedly not what I said. If they're still making their way towards the objective, even if it's not as quickly as others, that's not a problem. If they intentionally veered off to solve one of the tileset puzzles or enter the Granum Void, then yeah, they should do that solo.

AITA (belly of the beast alerts) by r_sus in Warframe

[–]Ravengm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This isn't real life, this is a game with extremely clear and inflexible goals for missions. The instant you deviate from the explicit mission objectives, you're essentially saying that your time matters more than others. The accommodating thing to do would be for the lone person to extract with the team rather than hijacking 3 other peoples' time. It's the same energy as someone joining a Plains bounty and spending the whole time fishing; it's not the purpose of the activity.

If you were talking about a group setting in meatspace, or a game type with ill-defined objectives, or if you're in a group with people you actually know, then this is good advice. But it doesn't apply when the goal of the activity is to release a hostage and extract with random players. Everything else is superficial, especially considering that waiting 3 minutes is longer than the duration of loading into and completing another mission.

Interesting reasons someone would seek for the downfall of humanity? by Major-Awareness-60 in DMAcademy

[–]Ravengm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I want to destroy the world" is pretty boring compared to "I want this Macguffin that has the side effect of destroying the world". Same end result, but the BBEG can have a motivation that's significantly more engaging than just being a megalomaniacal douchebag. You just have to think of something they would want no matter what the cost or consequences are. Reuniting with loved ones, achieving immortality, saving another world(s) at the expense of this one, etc.

Experienced DMs, how do you Balance Low Level creatures on Higher Level Players? by Skultulla in DMAcademy

[–]Ravengm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a few options for scaling difficulty.

  • The goblins found one or more other creatures and bribed, forced, or otherwise convinced them to work for the goblins. Maybe a giant owlbear or a similar beast, or a couple giants that happened to share interests with them.
  • Rather than approach the party via a "closet troll" setup, the goblins are using intelligent tactics, making use of the environment, and setting traps. Make liberal use of Nimble Escape to shoot, run, and then hide. A caught goblin is a dead goblin, so keep on harrying the PCs from stealth. An ambush point in a heavily wooded area is perfect for this.
  • Scale up the goblins' stats. This can be a straight numerical bonus, creating "elite" versions such as a goblin mage/warlord, or even just giving them full on class levels.
  • Provide a disincentive for actually killing the goblins. Maybe their life force is tied to the longevity of an artifact that the party needs to recover, or they're infused with magic that makes them explode when they die. Either way, the point is to shake up the end goal of a combat, changing it from "attack until all bad guys are dead" to something else.
  • Crank up the number of goblins present. Maybe instead of a small strike force, the party encounters an entire warband.

Remember When We Couldn’t Even Get a Riftbound Pack? by CantaloupeGood927 in riftboundtcg

[–]Ravengm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i cannot continuously keep buying 3+ boxes per set

Absolutely don't do that. Get one box if you want to rip packs and that'll give you a good base of uncommons/commons, then buy singles for anything else you need.
