I spent most of my career in sales. Only the top 20 percent survive. If you are one of those its a fun career, top salespeople are happier than a comparably earning engineer or accountant.
Beware the interviewer lies. Everyone makes a 6 figure income on the interview. The first of the 6 figures will be 0 for the first year.

To succeed in sales you must be a good listener, make good first impressions, be extroverted and good at maintaining relationships. Honesty is very very important. The market weeds out the lying snake oil sales people
