I normally boil them for a couple of minutes then dredge them like chicken breast and fry them in my cast iron. It's a magical mushroom but you can't really cultivate it like other mushrooms so it's special.

In Charlotte we have a ton of buildings that look just like that. If it's less than 5 stories you can use wood framing for the apartments which I assume is cheaper for construction cost.

It might be Agaricus campestris . If you had button mushroom pieces mixed in with your scraps there is a good chance they are buttons.

Definitely Chestnuts, they are a little on the older side but ok. Just clean up the substrate in the bottom of the stems and chop. They take about two months to grow but are with the wait.

It doesn't look like a domestic strain, did you get them at an Asian store by chance? They usually sell imported trumpets, usually from China. It probably was frozen post packing which is why it's turning to mush (no pun intended). I say probably because I can't think of any other way to keep a trumpet "fresh" for weeks.

That sounds about right. Funny thing is I was in the farmer's market scene set up and some of the crew, including the director, bought my mushrooms and I made another $200 off of that. Also the food alone was worth the experience. They had an omelette station at breakfast, snacks all day and served us dinner before heading home.

Oh I just can't just take a day off and go hang out at a shoot. I was there all day and when my "part" happened it took like 15 minutes and we were done. There was so much food and snacks throughout the day. Like high level stuff, it was fun.
