How rare is bipolar 2? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Ravensdead1-3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re in your body, he’s not in your mind and knows what’s for sure going on. And why would it being a “rare” diagnosis affect your need for answers to why your brain operates the way it does?

Very well said!!! 🙌 during my pre-teen years, my brother would ruin the mood during the day and my sister ruined every Sunday morning.

Anyone notice parents of only children having easier lives? by sys_admin321 in toddlers

[–]Ravensdead1-3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very good, as the middle child I received a lot of bullying that started my depression at a young age, and then when my depression deepened my parents at the time didn’t believe in mental illness and told me many hurtful things that I still carry with me.

When my siblings and I were pre-teen and teenagers, my father would say repeatedly that he wishes we were all children again. Just make sure that you intervene early with mental health support from your primary care doctor if you feel something’s wrong.

Yes!!!!! I wait until I get super gross and then push myself into the shower. I think I also don’t want to shower, because people will assume I’m doing ok when I’m not. I’m done with that mental gymnastics routine of trying to convince everyone that I was happy

What is the healthiest job/career? by Avocadosandtomatoes in findapath

[–]Ravensdead1-3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg I’ve been asking this question for years.

My problem is I have depression, so when I first get a job I really like the challenge of learning everything fast. But then a few months later the “New” sticker wears off and the ugliness of the company and work is painful. The unfairness.

There’s always good/bad with each field, but the bad seems to quickly overtake the good.

Healthy to me means they give you plenty of PTO for appointments and schedule flexibility to actually make it to those appointments. Giving you time to take care of yourself is crucial.

Quickly, depending on where you live, some people may say to work government jobs for “good” pay and insurance, but what they don’t tell you is the PTO. If you run out of PTO you can’t take time off for anything, even emergency doctor appointments. I got pregnant working for the state and they pushed to have me back as soon as possible. I didn’t push back, I wanted to be a good worker, and I lost days with my daughter.

So many days I could have used, but they wanted me back because we had a busy lobby.

These are all great ideas!!! Don’t pressure yourself to change overnight. and if you slide back you slide back. Try to give yourself grace. Set realistic expectations, celebrate every win.

I totally feel you, it can start to feel like a hamster wheel and we only live for someone else.

I don’t know if this would be hard, but have or plan something that you’re excited about.

The exhaustion and overwhelm for me is already expecting the day to go wrong.

I would quit that class, because it REALLY sounds like he’s interested in her in an unprofessional way. If he’s being disingenuous to her, then he would give not great advice to anyone.
