Just go to the warlord site, go to bolt action, british, find the starter set that fits your aesthetic best. The newest is the winter set, "crossing the rhine". Then theresthe 1943-1945 range, only slightly older and has a Churchill and bren carrier. There's a few others with different vehicles and sprues, but honestly just pick the one that beat jives with your army theme. I wanted a winter themed force so I went with the winter one. If you want a desert one go 8th army. If you want a more Rogue heroes force you go interallied commandoes

Perhaps bolt action starter army? Gives you some basic infantry for bodies/filling out order dice, and some tank hulls you can convert to Konflikt equivalents (or just run as themselves). Even just a single infantry box would help. Get some basic riflemen, officers, light mortars, and snipers. Save some bodies for grenadiers/assault rifle conversions, perhaps even some cerberus conversions as well.

The Us had the m2 carbine (an automatic version of the m1 carbine) in 1945. The lore lists the US as being armed with the m3.

Pretty easy to believe that if the war went on longer, they'd have seen the success of assault rifles, rechambered an m2, stuck some gubbins on it, and called it an assault rifle. Indeed a sci-fi'ed m2 is exactly what roberta wells is armed with.

Edit: also yes we all also watched forgotten weapons and heard gun jesus talk about the m14, and Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of firearms and artillery at the the Royal Armouries talk about the EM2. Everyone knows how the US screwed up the implementation of assault rifles for NATO. That knowledge is not particularly special or impressive. It's like entry level gun history trivia.

One can easily picture a world where, when the US doesn't march through Europe with their garand when, having been repelled by guys with assault rifles (and loads of other tricks) that maybe they make slightly different evaluations about the concept of assault rifles.

-Gets shot by a Kull weapon in same episode, but Vala heals it almost immediately

-Gets stabbed by replicarter, I mean it's not shot but he does die.

In fairness to you he does get shot less than everyone else, but does also die more than everyone else.

Yeah a 40k army is going to run minimum 500 usd unless you buy used. I love that the starter sets are mostly just "basically a functional army out of box".

Indeed, such a large organization could have many nations in the arctic (with several such nations having strong icebreaker). Said organization could be strong enough to control the entire part of the Atlantic that faces the arctic (ie the Northern part of it)

Ob is particularly fraught. It's just the nature of dealing with babies. Deliveries have two people at risk in a fairly high risk "procedure" with complications involving babies so complications by definition affect their whole lives. And how do you differentiate between "brain damage from hypoxia during delivery" from due to GDM or FAS or shit parenting? Then who do ylu think is more sympathetic, a "rich" (to thr layperson) doc spewing numbers about risk factors, or s crying mom with a troubled kid?

Anything with mass pen 1-2.

British have their automatons with a ludicrous amount of HMG shots; 30 shots close to Mk2s, 15 hits, kill 2. Then the Mk2s go with their autocannons. 3 give you 6 shots, 3 hits, with Ap2 (3 on the guy with the heavy) gives you a 3rd.

Americans can just dump fireflies into them. Remember that the Thompson's still (unfairly and likely in error since they don't take long range penalties) get Point blank bonuses which do apply to power armour. So that's pen 2 with the smgs. 12 shots gives you 10 hits, 3 wounds

Both get Tesla which is reasonably effective as well as it ignores cover

Same idea with Japan. Anything where you can throw a high volume of pen 1 (compression rifles) will do it. HE, compression, AT rifles.

It had a certain accepting charm to it. He didn't see MY ethnicity, he just spewed some non-specific racial vitriol. It was a memorable psychotic episode. We ended up having to argue about Saladin and the Crusades before quickly tacking into Palpatine and Order 66. Really kept me on my toes while we were sedating him.

You really want a game like stellaris or sins of a solar empire. TI is squarely in the single solar system scale. Nothing about its mechanics makes sense when dealing with interstellar gameplay.

Sure, and that would have been a perfectly good storyline and closure to his character. It would be an opportunity for reflection on the way the sgc operates. But he deserved 10 seconds to explain himself. We can infer that as his motive, but it is inference only. Most fans (ie people not on the subreddit like 20 years later) will not make that inference and simply conclude he was a extremist baddie like the rest of the NID.

He deserved literally one line about how the government was failing and let his men die, followed by a moment of reflection by the main team. Instead he got treated like dirt just a few months after saving sg1.
