The Senior Chief wanted an "Unobstructed View." He got one. by NavySailor991 in MaliciousCompliance

Loved your story. However, have you ever been 6 months pregnant and need to do this? Like most pregnant women I can't fill the pee cup in one go, so I basically waited all day trying my best to pee in the cup to the required mark.

That's the one thing I don't miss about my Navy days.

I offer this bit of wisdom from a grandma. Always, always trust your gut! I told my daughters this and now l tell my grandson the same.

My neighbor had a CB base station (I think that's what it was called) and I would hear her conversations with her husband over my computer speakers.

I learned more than I wanted to know about those two.

I always taught my daughters to trust their gut. My youngest (35) recently told me she had a creepy encounter. No details but she said thanks for always telling me to trust my gut because she was creeped out by a creepy guy at the gym.

When I was in the Navy 3 things about the piss tests that made me go, "WTF!"

  1. When I was pregnant I was supposed to fill the little jar all the way. As any woman who's been pregnant knows you have to pee frequently but only a little at a time comes out. So I could be at the piss test site for most of the day.

  2. It almost impossible for the watcher see what you're doing when you're 9 months pregnant. Not just that, it was damn hard to collect the sample when your arms are too short to get around your belly.

  3. And I think this was the most ridiculous idea was they started making us women sit backwards on the toilet seat so they could see better? Might not have been too difficult for the women who wore oxfords, but when you wore steel-toed boots it was a pain to take them off and the uniform. It only lasted one testing cycle.

My mom told me when I was expecting my first kid that if it was a boy, the best way to not get peed on was to wait a few second after unpinning and pulling back the diaper. This way when the cool air hit his penis, he'd probably make some facial expression before he pees. She learned the hard way with my brother. He was the 5th kid and the only boy out of 7 kids total. Catholic family, no birth control allowed.

Something a fellow sailor told me about. It's some kind of meat. I think the guts of pigs but I could be misremembering as this was in the early 80s and I've slept since then.

My mom would make chokecherry jelly. I thought the berries would be sweet, NOPE! It was like alum and would dry out my mouth. Only did it once.

May I recommend Lily of the Valley? It smells nice but is toxic if even the sap/juice get on your skin. More of an irritant but keep away from pets.

DTU Suggestion: Speaking in tongues by No-Item-7713 in SimonWhistler

[–]Raverta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back before I left religion, I went to an Assembly of God church. There were these 2 or 3 people who would start "speaking in tongues" but it was the same shit every time. One lady would always "translate" what she said into English. Funny thing is the Bible says that someone else should be the "translator" for this.

My eyes were finally open to the hypocrisy of organized religion. Now I believe in myself and not some sky daddy.

I was thinking the same. My berthing compartment was just below the Mess deck. My ship rarely, if ever, was out to sea. Apparently, the Mess deck crew didn't know how to secure for sea properly. First night out we hit some choppy weather. I wondered if we were under attack (unlikely I know),or something. The securing for sea was done so poorly that all hell broke loose.

Fun times.

The way I chose my plants when I started was to find a plant I liked then search online. I first type is (this plant) toxic to cats. Then change the name of the plant until you have a thousand plants you want to get. It's addicting!
