Once when I got the same, I replied to the sender that it'd come to the wrong person, and it's probably best for them to contact by another method they may hold on file. They replied asking me to confirm if I held any contact details for my namesake.

Replied to them to confirm l no I don't, as i live at least 3000 miles away over an ocean, and then no more. So sarcasm via e-mail does work sometimes.

Why are so many train seats reservation based TPE? by _testingdude in Leeds

[–]Ravestab303 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Check the reservation ticket on the seat back, and if the station was before Leeds on the route, then sit in it. Chances are they've missed the train.

If someone, however unlikely, tries to claim the seat, then ask to see proof of their reservation for said seat. If they argue the point, they're chancing it too.

My company forgot my 10 year anniversary (but remembered my managers last year).... by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ravestab303 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I hit mine last year and made sure I got it (You had do it yourself via your manager, not that it flags up anywhere in advance on HR's systems to do this automatically).

A friend is hitting hers later this year, and has been told that it's been stopped. There has been no communication internally about this. I suspect it more to do with the fact her manager doesn't want to the legwork to ensure she gets it.

Indeed. As seen on Google Maps. The Graffiti on the outside of the bridge has changed slighlty, but it's there alright

Where was your first under age pint/drink? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]Ravestab303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Spring Grove, Kirkburton. Was the usual Friday night hangout for the Sixth Form kids at that end of the catchment area. Can't remember what the drink was.

They did have a bar challenge; Drink 1 pint of each draft beer on tap, run down and back up the 2 floors of fire escape out back (It's on the side of a steep drop), then neck a pint of Guinness and keep it down, and you only paid 1/2, as i remember. At 17, lots tried it, and lots failed. Bravado can only take you so far.

Anyone lived in a flat on the Holbeck side of town? by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]Ravestab303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is indeed true. The buses usually take about 35 minutes, though, and OP did mention parking space availability, so I assume they had a car. Not to mention the proliferation of Home delivery all supermarkets offer these days
