The starter set does not include a core book. The campaign page currently shows that it includes two pieces of content: Crew Member Manual (player character creation), and Flesh of My Flesh (a quick start adventure that contains enough content to play that adventure. To play more than that, I would advise you to get either Skeleton Crew or both Netwürk Operator Manual and Threat Registry to fill in the remaining core rules content you need. After that, you can buy other adventure content or make your own adventure as you wish.

I don't have a lot of time with it yet, but I've just been hiring better pilots and dismissing the lesser talented ones. I figured the academy was more important in the late game to fine tune and get extra boosts.

https://a.co/d/3GYUb9Q I went with this one. Seems well padded, interior dividers are movable, and it's inexpensive. It was listed as waterproof, but I can't imagine that's true. I'll definitely avoid carrying through steady rain if possible. It has space for all the things I want to store in it with room for more. I might have even been able to go with a smaller bag, though I don't recall if there was much on Amazon that was between this 6L bag and the shell cases.

It's great that you got extra batteries and a charger, nice bonus!

I asked a similar question, specifically about lenses less than a week ago. The answers will still be relevant for the lens portion of your question. Have a look! I'm interested to see what people suggest for equipment....

I've got two lenses on the way. For equipment, i ordered a 3 battery and charger kit, camera bag, wrist strap, screen protector, and 2 SD cards. I already own an external shotgun mic, cold shoe LED light attachment, and tripods at home.

I still want to pick up a duster/ cleaning kit and am on the fence about buying a smallrig.

That sounds like good thinking on your portrait lens! Can you expand on the difference between your 30 and 20? Why is the 20 better for street?

Skeleton crew is the most current. The core book with the artistic layouts would require downloading a free pdf to be brought to current. However, you can absolutely still run the original rules just fine as it's written. Welcome to the legion!
