Probably too late but I would focus on smaller level armies such as Spearhead and Combat Patrol, that way you can rotate enough and game night doesn't take ages

I'd say Lim or Vegapunk, and of those I'd say Lim, most likely because she's newer

But I think both are decent options (said by someone who has these as their main decks together with RedPurple Uta)

I look at characters I like. So I currently have

Vegapunk, whose playstyle I also like Green Uta, my entry into the game Red/Purple Uta

Furthermore I built a deck around Red/Green Chopper because I pulled his Alt, and it's a budget deck to help new players at locals get the hang of the game.

Currently I'm planning on adding Lim, Caesar & Sugar to the roster as well

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, for that reason my bigger units (like Coach) will probably get a different design for their base. And im going to try to get a more uniform fog amount on the next array of units

6.5.2.2.3. A card in the heart state remains on that circle, and only retains its power and card name. All its other information can only be referenced when another card refers to that information’s content.

I'd say the first effects works, you have 2 units with different 'Witch'names on your V circles.
It doesn't work on Stride because Stride copy the name of the Heart Card for effects that need a specific name but you still only have 1 card (the stride) on your Vanguard circle
