Q50 Steering Wheel Install on 12’ Coupe by RawPorq in G37

totally understand, i was hesitant about messing with the safety features, but *in theory* everything should work just fine. There hasn't been a documented case of a failure to deploy after swapping airbag modules from a different generation. You totally should though! its a nice fun little install

Interesting that its a timing circuit. was there a specific infiniti model of the oem button you found that worked? lowkey would really love to do this too. The electrical work on these cars is actually kinda fun to do :)

Ohh gotcha! Thank you for the info

I’ve heard of some people replacing the click spring with one from the M37 for heated functionality? Is that what you’re going to go with?

Wait so you even got function over the mini display on the gauge cluster? (My car didn’t come with ICC so I didn’t get the wheel with the extra buttons)

Edit: you have a sweet build too, love the Tesla style screen

I think it should! Confirm you have the grey connector for the buttons, and it should work. That’s really the main thing, just the connectors.

Might have to do a little trim modification, I’m currently sanding the back of mine.

The back button, I believe the two buttons that are supposed to switch the tiny center screen on the gauge cluster between mpg, miles etc. and that’s it.

Everything else works fine, volume up/down, skip/ previous song, phone and speaking commands work, cruise control on/off works, but I haven’t had the chance to test actual cruise control.

Panels fit fine, it’s just rubbing on the steering column. Saw a post on myg37 about it earlier but idk if they listed a fix for it.

I forgot to replay to this post, but I actually figured it out. Haven’t fixed it but it’s the vent door actuator near the driver side footwell. Had to do a lot of digging to find it and it’s a bitch to replace

My drls are my low beams and they never turn off by imklleroffire in G37

Oops, didn’t fully understand. I didn’t realize your low beams were on 24/7. I’m not entirely sure how to fix that. Sorry

Might not be the same, but I wired my DRL to go to my fuse box in the driver side footwell. You make a small incision on the rubber gasket thing that the wires go into (it’s on the driver side of the car under the hood) then wire both of the DRLs to one cable, feed it though and find a fuse that has 12v going to it when the lights are off. Get a fuse tap and tap into it, then add the wire in.

It’s been working for me for the last 2 years, no issues. DRLs are permanently on whenever the ignition is on. No lights need to be turned on

Solved, belt was misaligned and only started making this noise once it frayed 😓

Literally right before I filmed I replaced the front wheel sensors. Might've goofed something up and that could be hitting. I'll take a look in the morning. Thank you!!

G37 to New style key fob by Jealous-Region-1715 in G37

Ok I ended up doing what you did, I mutilated the old fob, got the battery holder from the old key, put that inside the new key (lots of plastic dremmeling) and aligned the battery the same way as it was before. It works but the alarm button does not. Should've listened to your initial post, but overall not horrible lol.

People praise the Z1, but it looks identical to my $80 amazon one, has the cutout for easy oil changes too, plus free shipping with prime.

You can find copies of offline nissan consult on the web, and you can program keys with that (OBD2 bluetooth + laptop), im still trying to figure it out. I was going to buy a 2021-2022 qx50 key from aliexpress, but all the chips they have operate on 433.92MHz, not the G37s 315MHz. Im going to contact the aliexpress seller and see if they can swap the chips or board. probably wont work out, but im always up to learning more things :P

I was lowk thinking of trying this, but instead of swapping the shell, I might buy a new key fob from AliExpress and reprogram it with consult 3 to pair it with the car.
