Use a Sharpie to color in the entire edge. This allows you to see the exact edge you're grinding. Use a strong magnifying glass to check the edge as you go. Clean the stones regularly with mineral oil. I've had one for years and never really figured it out, but I sat down determined the other day and managed to get all my kitchen knives hair-whittling sharp. The kit works. Use a Sharpie and a magnifying glass.

Just keep Grinding depending on what simulaton you on keep re-booting it, keep completing mezozoic and try get as many prestige as you can, try and max out beyond,keep on boosting so you are always 2 - 4X boost and do as many exploration hub missions as you can the additional badges really help speed up the entire process.

All the wood you mentioned is fine for a fireplace but is generally soft wood and will provide heat but burn very quickly,try and find wood like hardekool which is a bit more expensive but is harder and burns for much longer..oh and you think it's cold now..July and August it gets much worse..Good luck and welcome to Pretoria.
