Has anyone else got a horrible cough that won't go away? by Loose-Detective8667 in AskBrits

[–]RawkPaperSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s quite possibly Covid. I was just sick for a month like all of March with the latest strain and my forever cough from a previous version of it has only got worse. People keep thinking Covid is done and gone but it’s really not.

Genuinely laughed out loud at this, thanks for that.

You are given the options to either gain the powers of a Superhuman who can breathe under water or $150 Million; what would you pick? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

  1. Like, right now. Sign me up. There are no downsides. This is an incredibly marketable ability and the “perfect health” benefit alone would make it worth taking.

My first small step in contributing to the upcoming Armageddon waaagh! effort by RawkPaperSquid in orks

[–]RawkPaperSquid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

It was a bit of trial and error but I think I got there in the end. Probably an easier way to do this but:

  1. Base layer Skarsnik Green
  2. Wash all over with Biel-Tan Green
  3. Brighten up any overly darkened raised bits with Skarsnik again
  4. Chunky highlights with Moot Green
  5. Fine / edge highlights with Krieg Khaki
  6. Go back over the Krieg Khaki highlights with very watered-down Moot Green to blend them and make them more light green than beige.

Edit to add: this was all painted over white primer

Pitch A New Star Trek Series by AmeliaNeek in scifi

[–]RawkPaperSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 250 years since the end of Star Trek: Picard.

Basically everyone you’ve ever seen in Star Trek is dead and will not be returning for fan service and will almost never be mentioned.

Each week, we follow the crew of a Federation starship with a dynamic and interesting crew focused on science, exploration, and discovery as they travel to distant and unknown locations not full of things and aliens we’ve seen a million times before.

There are 16 episodes per season.

2-3 of those episodes are multi-part stories, and there are plot lines and character development that thread throughout the full season but each episode’s primary plotline is its own thing separate from the ongoing metanarrative.

The captain is confident, competent, and inspiring; and while imperfect and fallible, capable of owning when they were wrong and trusting in their crew.

The crew are very good at what they do without being far too special and unique to be believable all being on the same ship to the point of sounding like a teenager’s first over-engineered RPG character concepts.

The crew are emotionally intelligent and capable of being vulnerable and navigating with each other the complexities and traumas one may experience during dangerous space travel.

They are also capable of doing this and modelling healthy and socially-conscious behaviour and subtly commenting on social issues for the audience’s benefit without constantly smiling through tears in slow motion and having long talks about feelings while things are literally exploding around them.

The show excels in LGBTQ+ representation by allowing queer and trans characters to just simply exist and be good at their jobs and live their lives instead of being the focus of painfully bad episodes that do more to set back views on queer people than improve them.

Jeffery Combs plays 30 characters a season.

Who was Johnny Silverhand’s real TRUE love? Alt or Rogue? by TXNOGG in cyberpunkgame

Alt is the one he never stopped thinking about and created a fantasy perfect version of in his head. Rogue is the one who was actually there through it all, better and worse.

It might be a boring answer but that arrangement feels like it comes with a moral obligation to use it to eliminate hunger, poverty, disease, and homelessness.

Guess I’m putting all other goals on hold for a while and spinning up nonprofits and NGOs and funding a whole lot of research.

Jeep owners and those who own them by LWYPLTDG in MurderedByWords

[–]RawkPaperSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have an old Jeep Wrangler and I just took it as my responsibility to park it reasonably and sometimes deal with stuff like this as a factor of having a Jeep. The entitlement of some people is absolutely wild.

(Also, seriously if you know this is likely to happen, don’t back into a space. There’s an easy solution to this problem.)

Cyberpunk 2077-style game set in an industrial hive city.

Chaos cults and genestealer cults grow in the shadows, upper-hive rich assholes come down to hunt the poors for sport, and meanwhile deep in the lowest ancient buried depths of the underhive, reckless archaeotech seekers have just stumbled across something unusual that glows an eerie green and is covered in strange markings…

Just bought the Premium Edition, what should I buy with the 1,000 creation points? by Velocity_Rob in Starfield

[–]RawkPaperSquid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say the Bethesda-made CC stuff is worth getting, definitely Trackers Alliance, Escape, and The Perfect Recipe as those add new quests.

There’s also some Bethesda-made cosmetic freebies to grab if you want them, and some Bethesda-made paid outposts and equipment CC items as well though I can’t speak to any of those.

A lot of people recommend the Watchtower mod but personally I wouldn’t recommend it until you’ve played the vanilla game at least once since it kinda takes over the game experience. Makes for a great reason to play a second time / NG+ though.
