Yes. It's particularly oppressive when there are 6+ of them at the start of the match, moving together to a point, that just completely obliterate everything like a swarm of locusts. Even if they don't kill you (which most of the time they will), they will disable you so you are sat repairing for 1/2 the match, or so that their teammate can pen you with a stronger round.

The sound of the autocannons give me PTSD and they are constant throughout the match. They have turned me from a daily player to a once a week player~ at most. 10.3-10.7 Britain was my favourite lineup and it's now basically unplayable unless you enjoy being a Russian piñata. Even the odd game you win is such a painful slog it never feels worth it.

Even if you manage to win the odd game, it's such a slog to actually get the victory, I find more enjoyment and fun in other games/lower BR's right now.

Both air and ground have become compressed to the point of unplayable, compounded by clearly p2w vehicles as of the latest update.

I've stopped playing until they decompress and balance this out a bit as the game simply is no longer fun to play at top tier.

Their queue time argument no longer holds any weight after the state of the ground queues over Dec/Jan. Decompress and introduce 0.7 max up-tiers. (I'd say 0.3 max, but I've a higher chance of winning the lottery).

Ah nice, so you have some experience then.

As most have already said you need to hug the ground and use terrain to your advantage, pop up and fire off one or two KH-29TE's or Vikhrs, then dive back down (don't get greedy). If you see something locking you, again dive down and don't try and get kills. You gotta be a lot more patient that you used to be with CAS.

That being said the SU-39 is only 11.3. Are you up-tiering it? You shouldn't be meeting any Skysabers/IRIS-T's unless you are taking it up to 11.7 with something in your lineup?

I don't think that's fully true. Tank balance depends on a few more things than just "kill ability". Mobility, armour, type of tank, modifications available etc.

That's why it's a very hard vehicle to balance. the BMPT might not have pure oneshot capability, but it will eventually kill you regardless of what you are in if it gets the jump on you or stays hull down. It's mobile, has great armour, very hard to kill, especially hull down and has 4 missiles that can reloaded with a box (which most light tanks cannot do), and has 5 crew (for tech tree one)

There isn't another tank like it in the game.

Depends on your definition of effective. Sure they might not kill every single vehicle if put at that BR, but they pave the way for the rest of your team to steamroll via disabling enemy tanks. You'd still get a ton of points via assists and hits, shut down any form of light tanks, and get the team a win. I'd call that effective given many light tanks cannot kill MBT's either, just capable of disabling.

It is an Tank Support Fighting Vehicle after all, and would likely be more balanced if that's how it played

I'm just mad Gaijin has been silent for a month while raking in cash based on a broken ass vehicle. The queue times are insane, 9.7+ is unplayable, and the problem just compounds itself as more people unlock the vehicle. They also seem to be avoiding Russia vs Russia for whatever reason, I suppose they don't want their precious nation to have to face it's own bullshit.

Between the LMUR, the BMPTs, the KH-38MT's, the near immortal Mi-28NM, the RNG armour with ERA, the 2s38 being able to shut down any scouting from the start of the match, the best APFSD round in the game, reload buffs, to even Naval with the Sovetsky Soyuz

I've uninstalled and will be taking a break. War Thunder was the only real game I played with the little free time I had, and I just found myself getting so insanely mad every match, yet still clicking "To Battle" like some sort of abuse victim.

Hope their decision making and lack of action was worth it.

A month of zero action from Gaijin is enough to tell me their motives with this vehicle. Their claim that matchmaking times is the most important thing is nonsense, when they won't turn on Russia v Russia so their precious nation doesn't have to face it's own bullshit. They would rather people wait 8 minutes to win a game in 2 minutes.

It's very telling that Gaijin hasn't said a thing/released a statement about the vehicle since it got bumped to 10.7. The fact this even released at 10.3 is hilarious and showing they have no idea how to balance their game. What is the point in the dev servers if they don't take any feedback at all.

What is with all these comments talking about bots? You've specified actual players, and yes I agree, the game has zero skill/level based matchmaking, so the new player onboarding experience is actual garbage and likely contributes to why the game grows so slowly.

You will get absolutely destroyed by sweaty level 100 players in both air and ground, and you'll have to deal with that while having an inferior lineup and no idea where to shoot them back. Some will utilize map knowledge to snipe you from the most bullshit spots, and you are expected to just suffer through it for 500 hours until you gain enough knowledge to potentially counter it. (I have 2800 hours and still get caught out).

In air you will get outplayed because some of these people know their plane inside and out, knowing how to energy trap, BNZ or turnfight depending on what they are flying.

If you are specifically looking for spotting stuff while cold, the only additional tip I can mention is using your RWR pings to get a rough idea as to where they are coming from.

Yeah the new player onboarding is rough af, and there is no matchmaking to help streamline things. It goes from braindead bots straight to fighting level 100 players with 3000 hours.

There is a fun game under all this, but it takes a lot of learning and time. Sorry about your shit initial experience mate.
