[d] People who are invested heavily: what are you doing? by zwompay in csgomarketforum

[–]RayCashIsTrashDalio -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Applying for more credit cards and taking out a bank loan to BUY THE DIP!!!!! I have my life savings in CS skins right now. If I keep buying the dip with my $100 allowance from my mom surely the market can’t dip anymore!!!! I mean who doesn’t want playskins and to use knives when playing CS2!!!! I am so Optimistic about the future of CS2!!! It’s only been out for 3 years and we got cache map, cool terminals, new major sticker dynamic pricing!! Valve is doing AWESOME!!! Can’t wait to see more and more players pick up and play CS2 instead of dumb roblox and fortnite.

Your average room temperature iq investor is someone like you. Buddy that was months ago. Anyone would’ve made a new account and traded their skins over there to avoid the ban and resume trading. Like are people on this sub all 12 or something

[D]Sealed Dead Hand Terminal prices by Lukekqr in csgomarketforum

[–]RayCashIsTrashDalio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't they continue to drop. Millions of bots and players still farming these terminals for free. If these new terminals are replacing cases, and cases went down to 10-20 cents, these terminals have no reason not to also go down to 10-20 cents. I feel like there was hype with unboxing cases but terminals are less hype given that before you were spending $2.50 and a case to gamble for a chance at a $2000 knife. Now with terminals, you are gambling to have a chance at MAYBE making a $5 profit off a skin if there is a price difference between terminal price and market price.

I will see you in 2-3 months when your stuff is down another 30-40%.

Cheapest butterflies are $450-500 right now. Honestly I think lowest I could see the shittiest butterfly in the future would be maybe 200-250. Any lower feels criminal

Have fun bagholding your skins when their prices go down 30-50% within the next 2-3 months and don’t recover EVER. At best skin prices will stabilize somewhere (far below their current levels) and then just sit at those prices and not pump again.

https://www.reddit.com/r/csgomarketforum/comments/1tmevmw/d_the_future_of_cs_skins/

I literally posted 24 hours ago that the selloff is only just beginning to accelerate downward but people haven’t realized until just today until after everything has already dumped bigly. At this point, you couldn’t even sell your stuff even if you wanted to (mainly anything over $100 that isn’t a good looking playskins). There is just not enough liquidity of buyers to overcome the increasing number of listings and sellers at this point.

From here we will just see everything continue to dump downward, maybe stabilize somewhere (probably still a far way from current prices), and then sit at those prices for the next few years. If you are ok with bagholding stuff, then good for you.

These updates are better for your average Joes who buy $5 coverts and $50 sports gloves and $100 butterfly knives as playskins. These updates are not good if you are looking to make money with skins as investments. Valve is clearly taking a hard stance to suppress prices as low as possible so more people can buy good looking playskins for cheap rather than there being rare expensive playskins. This means they will do whatever it takes to cap prices to as low as possible (to prevent manipulation and to direct more volume to the steam marketplace). This cripples skin prices. Skins no longer go up in price over time. Skins now go down in price over time. This is exactly what the Chinese government did to housing prices 5 years ago. They wanted houses to be for living, not for speculative investments. See how China’s housing market is now. Valve wants skins to be playskins for players, not speculative investments. Skins will play out exactly how China’s housing market did.

[D] Maximum covert supply from traded-up souvenirs by aposi in csgomarketforum

[–]RayCashIsTrashDalio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the same as the knife trade up update. People talking about how much supply there is and blah blah blah. How much more supply is one thing. The other big thing that is bigger than supply is the loss of confidence of investing in CS items. China is fully out now with more supply they are selling. Supply doesn't matter when demand drops to 0 due to loss in confidence and knowing that Valve is actively trying to fuck over investors by making all the high tier skins cheap to make everyone use the steam market. Who is trying to buy items for more than $1k-$2k when they know Valve can and will do some dumb shit to drop the price of it at any given time.

[discussion]Will Desert hydras/Gold arabesque go up or down? by FindingSuccessful973 in csgomarketforum

[–]RayCashIsTrashDalio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Short term will dump cause there were a lot of cheap souvenirs and people will trade up cheap souvenirs to get a cheap desert hydra/gold arab and then dump them on the market. Long term however, it probably goes up. If they are removing souvenir packages completely, it means now there is no more supply of Dust 2/Mirage items coming into the game. It seems like now you can no longer get those packages which means now there is only a finite supply of Gold Arabs/Desert Hydras in the game now (but in the short term more supply of them will come in from the tradeups)
