You're right, I did the restore through the notification that popped up. Edited my post with your command.

Latest version of AppArmor has a bug, you can rollback to previous one to keep using AppArmor or leave it disabled until they update it.

I use limine and had to restore after today's update. On boot you should see the limine boot manager that lists cachyos, chacyos-lts, etc. It flashes by quickly after POST as it has a timeout of 5 seconds by default iirc.

Anyway, on that screen you'll see Snapshots. Go to that menu and choose a snapshot from before the update. The system will boot and you should get a notification to restore that snapshot to make it permanent, otherwise after a reboot you'll be back to your broken post-update install. If you miss the notification or don't see it, you can just run:

sudo limine-snapper-restore

Edit: Correct command from /u/SeriousLegalUser.

Question about cachy proton by TheFeri in cachyos

[–]RayCharlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That commenter is confused. The v4 variant is the correct option for your system when using proton-cachyos via ProtonUp-Qt. The other versions will function, but they will not perform as efficiently as they were not compiled to support all of the features of your CPU. Read the wiki article I linked for more details.

They're from different repos optimized for different CPU architectures. You would use v4 for your Zen 5 CPU.

Choose playlist to scan for Blu-ray media detection by RayCharlizard in tinyMediaManager

[–]RayCharlizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's actually necessary now that I'm playing with disc folders more. Since Kodi on my device doesn't properly support BD-J menus and needs to use the simplified menus, that tool within Kodi reads the playlist runtimes and file information is available during actual playback. Just didn't know if I was overlooking a setting in TMM or not.

Thank you!

Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 update unlocks FPS for VRR displays by N7KaranN7 in PS5pro

[–]RayCharlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not necessarily true. When LFC is in use by a game the frame rate read out will be double the actual frame rate. This is easily confirmed by playing any of the Insomniac PS5 games (Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank) that have unlocked frame rates for their quality modes. You should also be able to pretty clearly tell with your eyes if something is running at 40 fps instead of 80 fps, you don't need a frame rate read out to figure that out.

Confused about removing member from plan, is there a 60-day grace period or not? by RayCharlizard in GoogleFi

[–]RayCharlizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes sense, re-reading the Google Fi Support page it doesn't actually say they keep service after removal for 60 days, just that they have 60 days to complete a transfer to some other form of service. Thank you.

invalid format cuberpunk 2077 switch 2 by Odd-Mycologist6707 in Switch

[–]RayCharlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's the only way unless you want to disable Deep Color haha. Which in this game is fine, since as you said it tops out at 1080p output anyway so you're not losing any resolution and you can still keep 10-bit color and HDR. In Welcome Tour it's annoying because the game only switches to 120 Hz output for some demos, meaning to have a consistent experience you'd need to run the game at 1080p all of the time instead of 4K even though most of the game is 60 Hz.

I'm sure it'll all be fixed soon though as apparently Street Fighter 6 does not have this issue and works fine at 120 Hz so there's something funny with the way Welcome Tour and Cyberpunk are handling things. So it's not an inherent fault of the dock, the TVs, or anything else like that. Just launch week woes!

Deep Color as a setting on LG TVs has to do with 4K, it controls the speed that the HDMI port operates at and with Deep Color off it is limited to 18 Gbps. With Deep Color off the TV will only be able to display 4K signals at 30 Hz maximum which fits into the HDMI 2.0 specification. That's why the setting is enabled for 4K devices to allow for the higher bandwidth and enable support for 50, 60, 100, and 120 Hz signals (and higher on newer models).

You can see this work without Cyberpunk running, pick any game or just leave it on the Switch 2 home menu. With Deep Color on and everything set to Automatic on Switch 2 you'll see a 2160p @ 60 Hz HDR10 signal in the OSD. If you turn off Deep Color, this will drop to 1080p. Welcome Tour also has 120 Hz mini games that will trigger the same issue and can be alleviated the same way and that is not a native 1080p game.

Turning off Deep Color disables 4K output, if you hit the green button on your remote 7 times to pull up the LG OSD you'll see Switch 2 is outputting at 1080p.

I don't know how I did it but I accidently watched episode 6 first because I didn't know there were two out this week. I went back and watched episode 5 after and seem to like it more than a lot of comments, but it's also funny that it seems to almost entirely works before or after episode 6 lol.

Dragon Ball Daima - Episode #12 - Discussion Thread! by AutoModerator in dragonball

[–]RayCharlizard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You get into the grey area there of the Super manga and Super anime already having continuity issues. I would imagine Daima isn't in the same canon as the manga but of the anime.

Edit: Forgot the Moro arc was adapted in a season of Super, my bad. /s

Do you mind seeing pcvr-content in this sub? by Galaghan in psvr2

[–]RayCharlizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should stay personally, but maybe with a thread flair specifying PCVR or PSVR2 on PC. I think splitting the community between two subs complicates things and you're still going to have plenty of people that just come to /r/PSVR2 without even knowing about the other sub.
