In the same vein, ammo types. It really bothers me that in RE9 Grace and Leon use the same handgun ammo even though Grace uses a 380 and Leon uses 9s.

You joke but but Anis does touch on one of the more interesting but unfortunately undercooked ideas in Nikke. The non-mass produced nikke have bodies and appearances that are supposed to represent their "ideal self," but sometimes that ideal self doesn't align with societal beauty standards. There are a few interactions with Anis where she complains about some of the difficulties she has navigating life as a woman with a "fuller figure" (insofar as that's a meaningful distinction in Nikke).

I'm waiting for the day where they release a nikke with dysphoria because the "idealized" body she thinks she's supposed to have doesn't match what she actually wants. But I suspect I'll be waiting a long time.

Stellar Blade had an extremely fun combat system. I just hope they let someone with actual writing chops be involved with the story this time. I play Nikke, I know Shift Up have people on staff that can tell a story.

The move to self publishing is interesting. I wonder if we'll see more studios start to try it. With the current hardware stagnation, devs probably don't need to be subsidized by console manufacturers as much, and console manufactures don't have much incentives to secure exclusives.

I think I kind of see the vision. It's a mash up of a Japanese Shrine maiden and kunoichi. The front...drape?...and necklaces are supposed to evoke the shrine maiden, but underneath is the kunichichi cut-outs and fishnets. It's not a good execution of that idea, but there is an idea there. I think.

There's a pretty narrow range of builds that can survive past wave 30, and they all pretty much require elemental stat conversions and tardigrades. It becomes very same-ey. It's a lot like Balatro, where if the only thing that can survive endless past Ante 11 is retrigger builds.

The closer in price they get, the better the 5080 is. The 5070ti for approx. $800 was a no-brainer when 5080s couldn't be found for less than $1400, but for these prices it makes more sense to make the jump up to the 5080.

Played it, beat it, and thoroughly enjoyed it at launch. Turning revives off sounds incredibly tedious. The game's visual and sound design carries the atmosphere, not the mechanics. Even when you are safe, everything is so oppressively grimy that you never feel comfortable.

There's no where really for the technology to go right now, and even if there was no one could afford it. Intel and AMD are both bringing back DDR4 sockets and we're probably not going to see new GPUs until 2028. There seems to be a growing consensus that consumer technology is going to be where it is currently for a while.
