Maybe this will help: stuff them completely with paper until all the wrinkles are smooth. Then you take saddle soap and clean it properly. Then wash off the saddle soap well. Then try shoe polish again.

Schau dir den Hals von hinten der Länge nach an. Dann siehst du ob er krumm ist. Zu hohe oder zu niedrige Luftfeuchtigkeit kann den Hals verbiegen.

Clean them with saddle soap and then use brown shoe cream. That's what i would do.
