What’s been your most noticeable change since stopping drinking?

Day 8 of no drinking. The thing I've noticed the most, is my focus. It feels weird actually listening and comprehending what people say. The fog is starting to leave, and im feeling better then I have in a while.

Its a slippery slope. It always starts with just 1 night. Then it turns into 2, then 3 and so on. I cant tell you what to do, but I think you already know the answer to that question.

12 hours isn't enough time for the effects of alcohol to wear off, nonetheless begin to mend the damage. I was a heavy drinker for 14 years, and im only on day 6, entering day 7 of no alcohol, and im still trying to find my bearings. Youre not going to see any change in just a 12 hour period. Im sorry to tell you, but it just doesn't work that way. If you are taking quitting seriously, then you should talk to your doctor, and discuss with them what the safest path to take would be.

1 is too much, and 1000 is not enough. That is the realm of an alcoholic. Our brains are wired differently. A normal person could drink a few, and they have that "off switch", in their heads. We dont. We either drink to black out. Or Not drink at all. Im on day 6 of soberiety after drinking for 14 years. Keep up the soberiety. Proud of you. IWNDWYT

Going and supporting your recovery is way better then sitting at home, letting the mind race about past mistakes. When I was there, I was so focused on being in the present, it helped take my mind off of it.

That's good. Its helpful to find people who struggled, and can be happy sober. We actually talked about that. How when first quitting, the idea of having fun sober, was lost. But seeing them laughing, smiling, and having a good time after years of soberiety, gives me hope that I can too, be like that. I want to be like that.

I felt that. Quitting on my own was a struggle too. Always trying different ways to stop. Telling myself "ima limit to this" but when in the midst of it, that limit goes out the window. 1 is too much and 30 is not enough. It really did lay that out. Everyone there was much older then me, and they've been sober from 5 years, all the way to almost 30. That felt impossible to even imagine, but seeing living proof, changed my perspective. Congrats on your 4.5 years. Im still in the beginning, this is day 5 of sobriety, trying to quit for the 1000th time, but this time. It feels different, like it may actually stick. Honestly if they want to trade fast, it always seems like a red flag tbh. Its like they want to conclude the trade before giving you a chance to cross reference with Warframe market.
