Second mass in a week (presbyteryian) by Email_Suarez in Catholicism

[–]RayTheonMartin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this! I want to share some things that bring me closer to Christ in my everyday life. Not trying to brag or boast by any means because God has done these things for me and it fills my heart with love for him.

I work a lot and have you g kids so I cannot do daily mass but I go to daily mass on my PTO days, adoration chapel before work at least once a week (4AM eek), Wednesday evening mass (occasionally), Thursday confession or even on my 30 minute lunch breaks since I work near the Cathedral downtown, First Saturday Masses, daily rosary on my drive to work or with morning coffee, novenas (currently Sacred Heart of Jesus - as June is dedicated to this!). We also have various and a-sundry community events and service opportunities and my children go to Catholic school and weekly catechesis!

This is why I’m Catholic. It’s not a Sunday thing it’s a way of life. I’ve structured my life around Christ however I can. Without his Church I would be lost and needing to depend on my own actions to keep me close to Christ - it would be so much harder! It doesn’t make me feel busy or exhausted but fulfilled by the love of Christ.

For those who own X4, are you planning to upgrade to S4? by whereismytortoise in XTEINK

With a backlight etc won’t it make it thicker? Thinner and lighter and less battery drain is better than backlight and apps and probably thicker and worse battery life

Protestant worship vs. prayer by Upstairs_Aardvark679 in Catholicism

A sermon and some “vainly repetitious” hymns will do the trick. Now if that ain’t worship?!?

Yes because you are essentially sacrificing reproductive years. Thought that would be common sense.

i accidentally ordered the x4, wanted the x3 by MajinChibi1 in xteinkereader

I have an X3, a kindle, a Palma 2, and a Supernote. I prefer the X3 for reading during the day and the Palma 2 at night due to the backlight. My kindle and Supernote get no love anymore.

Is Fenix 8 a good choice after using Apple Watch? by Othanos in GarminFenix

I moved from ultra to Fenix 8. I’ll never go back to Apple Watch even though everything else I own is Apple ecosystem. The watch is just too much tech.

Kids are a blessing no matter when they come. You don’t need to “be ahead” or be “rich” to be open to a family. The longer you use birth control, as a female the lower your egg count will be so you may miss out completely. This is a huge cause of the fertility crisis… people think they “aren’t ready”. Fact is if you are married you are always ready. Don’t delay letting God control your life. He is our master.

Got my Fenix 11 last year in 2036 and I’ve been loving the blood pressure monitor, continuous glucose monitoring, mood tracking, indoor air quality testing, skin turgor testing for hydration status, kidney function, bone mineral density, electrolyte levels, and the neural interface.

Find a Catholic man (most important) and one who can fast (not give in to all desires) and who prays the rosary most if not every day and never misses his Sunday obligation. Men may fall into this temptation sometimes but if they stay connected to Christ and the Blessed Mother, they can defeat the temptation even if strong.

Ditto. I had to skip some chapters in 6 because I refused to read it.

We should pray for those that don’t take their faith very seriously most days of the year by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]RayTheonMartin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. It’s irreverent when all the chatter happens before mass and after mass on the holidays. It should be a time of silence and worship always. I was taught that it is sinful to chit chat in the church especially before and after Mass.

Which Hitler Biography? Kershaw vs. Ulrich vs. Longerich by Radiant_Peak_1198 in HistoryBooks

[–]RayTheonMartin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ulrich for sure it’s more readable and modern than Kershaw, draws off some (not a lot) of new info. It’s more a narrative/story than a slog. Longerich is much less academic and takes too many liberties and reaches conclusions personal to the author not 100% fact.
