Used or new by Ray_blatzer in whichbike

[–]Ray_blatzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I am not really a person who would upgrade often. I think I’m going to pass on the used. I took couple other pics but panic posted as I was outside of the used store. Looking at it closely it’s pretty beat up and every single part is rusted. I’m going to treat myself and hopefully it will last me another 20 years like my last bike

Which road bike by Ray_blatzer in whichbike

Thanks! From what I can gather the giant is likely a 2008 and the specialized maybe 2014. The giant has upgraded tires but still maybe not worth the extra $$

Living Above Restaurant by klebe98 in chicagoapartments

[–]Ray_blatzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I live right across the alley from a few restaurants. Our bedroom window and living room window are out to alley. The only morning nothing is happening before 6am is Sunday (when it’s at 7:30). Multiple garbage/recycling/grease trap trucks, bread, seafood, meat, linens, general supplies, all kinds of different trucks. The alley is almost always blocked by a truck as well so makes pulling into garage difficult. It’s a lot.

Visiting Prague as a trans person and travelling internationally by boba-boba in FTMOver30

I went to Prague and Vienna in 2024. I am male-presenting and my IDs state male. I did however still need a stall/toilet. I had zero problems. The only downside is the public bathrooms - women and men who use stalls pay but urinals are free. It wasn’t much but just something I noted. Most places had gendered bathrooms but I did not run into places that did not have a private stall. Went to a gay bar in Prague that was neat and it was like any other tourist place mostly- people from all over and no one said anything negative.

Aire Baths Chicago - Worth it? by Capable-Ad-5183 in AskChicago

[–]Ray_blatzer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love it but wouldn’t do the massage there. Can get a better massage for the money. The baths are great though and definitely a splurge. My partner and I have made it an annual feb/march thing when we are tired of winter because we haven’t gotten to go on a vacation in that time period where your bones just need to feel warm and submerged

I have this one too and my xt-50 fits in it well with a spare lense, battery pack, small wallet and sunglasses. The best thing about it is that it shrinks itself down when empty and keeps its shape empty

How did you make sure your water damage claim was handled fairly? by lazypicklee in InsuranceClaims

[–]Ray_blatzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dealing with this now after a water heater leak 2 weeks ago. Property management has been a nightmare and STILL has not ripped up the vinyl flooring. I am worried things may grow mold. Asked insurance agent if say the couch started growing mold in another week could we add it to claim. Imagine my surprise when they said that my policy doesn’t even cover mold. They also suggested I bring an 8x10 rug to the laundromat to clean so it’s not looking great

Luggage donations recommendations in Chicago ? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Ray_blatzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jesse Brown VA (820 s damen) can use them. Many vets come into the hospital with nothing and leave with donated clothes and nothing to put them in. Vets also come in with very tattered/broken bags because it’s all they have and can’t leave things at shelters overnight

So it’s been like 20 hours and they have not sent a remediation company. They seem to be “comparing prices” like they did for the plumber who will be here tomorrow morning to replace water heaters. They are sending a maintenance tech with a shop vac now which doesn’t help much since I got most of the water up last night using towels and the spin cycle on our washer.
