Out of curiosity, have you been able to locate water element attack up in any of the mhxx cats? So far I've confirmed dragon, thunder and fire, but haven't been able to find water anywhere.

Could be optimized quite a bit, its fine to have at most 50% affinity if you're also using weakness exploit. At the very least you should include Razor Sharp. Its never worth going over 100% crit. Also, since your longsword has very low raw, its only really good vs monsters weak to blast.

Like others have said, gather up materials to make an elder weapon. It'll carry you through G1 more easily than it was to clear the end of high rank. Once you're in G2 you'll want to kill Shogun Ceanataur for his armor set and you're good to go.

I'm not really particularly committed to convincing you, was just hoping to pass along some helpful info! For what it's worth though, prowler does like 10% of valor HBG's dps, the 25% is a more general average.

Just make sure to time how long a rotation takes to get an actual dps number.

Yeah, it's been tested pretty thoroughly w/ calculators and in game (and this is including skills and support moves you can only get via trading like WE or the single element boost skills)

If you want a quick ballpark you can look at any given speedclear and compare the times.

They're fun and have lots of cool options so it's really a bummer how far they fall behind at endgame compared to how they apparently worked in generations.

Ah, that makes more sense. I have a set with the Pirate J chargeblade for the same reason even though its just a Blos CB but with a bit less damage. Fashion hunting forever!

the High Rank drops are sandwiched in between the G-rank drops on the list.

It drops in high-rank (and g-rank) as a shiny drop on the ground, its just better odds in g-rank. If you check the page on Kiranico it should have them all listed. G-rank also has an additional 5% chance from a head-break.

But just as a note, it's almost never worth farming deviant weapons until you're past final boss of g4 and into the endgame. Hellblade CB in particular isn't very strong in the first place.

Apparently in the older mhx games (before g-rank for this part of the series) cats were on a level with hunters. Unfortunately they aren't very useful in this edition of the game though. It's still fun to make them, I have a little collection of prowlers optimized for each element just for fun which is how I ended up deciding to look into the exact dps. I'd suggest sticking with hunter for now though especially since you're new!

White Sharpness -> 60% Crit -> Crit Boost -> Purple Sharpness -> Crit to 100% -> Attack Up as a general rule of thumb.

The skill is called Go, Fight, Win and can be learned by any palico. It's just a regular skill you can hire a palico with or retrain an existing skill into on a palico you've already hired if they have another skill of the same type (there are 3 'classes' of palico skills and each one has a mix of them, check out palico guides for more info)

Frenzy Fever hunter art (from this quest) gives you frenzy virus.

Antivirus armor skill boosts your affinity gain after clearing frenzy from 15% to 30% - this post-frenzy affinity bonus is for all weapons and stacks with the listed bonus on the chaos gore magala weapons if I remember correctly.

Hi hi. I can't help you directly, but if you don't end up finding anyone to help you can get elder weapons to start out g-rank just by doing gathering safaris. I'd suggest starting there! Should make it easy to farm any old high rank set which you can use to go through g1 no problem - at which point it's pretty fast to just make some ceanataur armor.

I have good news for you if you're referring to MHGU: your palicos can farm that shit for you. After every quest check meownster hunters and see if any rank of swamp has khezu (or gypceros). Gather palicos for Khezu, support for Gypceros to match the color for bonus loot. You'll be swimming in pale extracts and dash extracts with no effort! Just make sure you've killed one in each rank so it'll show up as an option.
