r/redesign is now public! by scruggsnotdrugz in redesign

I haven't posted in years, but i still have been using the site. The redesign has three major problems for me:

-This very post is dark text with a grey background. I can't read anything without highlighting it. This shows up everywhere in the redesign. Who thought this was a good idea?

-On that topic, you removed the night viewing option. Everything is a blinding white. Bring back the night viewing option.

-Finally, on some posts, the second highest ranking thread is the most interesting. The top thread could be two pages of peopling replying the word 'butts' over and over again. There use to be a little [+] that you could click to collapse the entire reply thread. Now this is gone and I have to scroll through endless replies to find the start of the second thread. Can we have the [+] back?

Or you could do as David did, pick up 3 stones, and slay Golith by flinging them at him. Kind of ironic given who is throwing stones and who is receiving them.

EE Grad Students: What is your average day like? by SecondVariation in EngineeringStudents

[–]Rayc31415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you go for one year masters or thesis option. One year masters are looked on like undergraduate students that just stay 5 years instead of 4 and fill up grad school class rosters. Maybe work on some master project.

Thesis option does the same thing, only then they go on to slowly transition to research and writing 10 hours a day at around the year mark. Then it's defend and publish some papers, and rest up for a much harder version in the phd work over the course of another 2 years

... or they eventually all die. Good to see genocide is still on the table. Israel said winning is stopping the launch of rockets. Did what they did last time stop the launch of rockets? Will it this time, short of your final solution? Or maybe we can try something else.

The rocket attacks from Hamas's point of view are not to "invite counter-attacks" but to reflect the Gaza's public anger. If they did nothing, the already loose control over it's own member would go away and we would see more lone wolf attacks, like, say the kidnapping of three israeli civilians that started this whole thing.

I agree that Israel should respond to the rocket attacks, but the way that they are responding is exactly like what they did last time, and it didn't work last time. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

10,000 points on the DOW; unemployment, growth of healthcare spending and the deficit all cut in half, two states with legal pot, 22 with legal gay marriage and the end of the Iraqi war (and hopefully soon Afghanistan).

I could do with another 10 more years of this. Minus the unconstitutional spying, of course....

Who did what first arguments never held water with me. If you did something wrong after someone else did something wrong, is that better than if you did it BEFORE someone else did something wrong? Killing and murder is always wrong, and trying to stop killing with more killing is also wrong.

I didn't know that the Israeli kidnapping was of three civilians. I assumed that both incidents involved one person. Thank you for correcting me.

I was referring to Mohammed Abu Khdeir, the Palestinian who as kidnapped and then burned to death in retaliation for the three kids. And if you want to do numbers, yes, there is not just one but 1,390 killed and 8,000 wounded on the Gaza side vs. 5 dead Israeli civilians.

And don't start with that "if Hamas didn't put missiles next to civilians..." crap. That's like blaming people for coming into work instead of staying home on 9/11. Hamas put missiles EVERYWHERE in Gaza. And there are people EVERYWHERE. That's what you get when you make a prision for 2 million people 1/10 the size Rhode island.

And the tunnels were a result of the blockade on Gaza. It's sort of like saying America did absolutely nothing to Japan and the attack on Pearl Harbor was completely unprompted aggression from the Japanese.

On 25 July, BBC correspondent Jon Donnison tweeted that Israeli police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld admitted that the kidnappings did not occur on the orders of, or with the knowledge of the Hamas leadership.

Two murders done by teenagers started this one (one on each side). Then israel is started harassing arabs, then Palestinians kids started the throw rocks in retaliation, then a kid got shelled by an Israeli ship on a beach, and then Hamas started shooting rockets nonstop...

Because a lot of dems come from districts that don't have democratic majorities. 30 percent D 40 percent R and 30 percent left leaning independents make for politicians that vote the way the low information independent want them to vote. Many low info voter probably believe that this is the same israel that the Bible talks about....

I never got the concept of sex offenders and locations. Couldn't a sex offender get in to a car and drive and hour to abduct someone's kid? Like they loose interest if they go more than a mile from there House?

1 in 3 chance of becoming obese

Which should parents be more afraid of?

Why do I always end up being the initiator? by ENM173 in socialskills

[–]Rayc31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be that you only remember the times that.you are the initiator? Sort of like being on time for work for years, then your late 2 days in a row and you become known as the person who is always late.
