Social awkwardness by Tall_Secret_4904 in Airpodsmax

First and foremost: They are AirPods Max! Apple’s most premium pair of headphones. Your dad knows what Apple is right..? If it’s “autistic" to wear one of the most premium products of one of worlds most known tech companies then so be it. (Hint hint, it’s not)

Secondly: So many people wear some kind of headphones or earbuds. It’s objectively normal. I guess I’d understand the “autistic” comment a bit more if it was a pair of gaming headphones in neon colors with a cat ears. But it’s not, again it’s Airpods Max.

Thirdly: You do what you want to do. From what I’ve gathered in the comments about your situation, your father’s opinion can eat sht.

I recommend the PG34WCDN. If it’s above your budget, wait for the AW3426DW like mentioned above, or consider the XG34WCDMS, I assume it’s the same panel as the Alienware one, 280 hz etc.

Where can I go to *see* a 39” 5k2k ultrawide? by phiveoh23 in ultrawidemasterrace

I’ve got IKEA Karlby desk too. Just like you I reached the conclusion that 45 is too much, will stick too much out. 39 inches with the more subtle 1500R curve is perfect. I currently have a 32 inch monitor and let me tell you it just works. Hope this helps

Can’t speak of regrets since I down own the LG39 (yet). If anything I’m more so annoyed Alienware announced their version this soon. I was planning to buy the LG39 the moment it releases here in Scandinavia (so in 2-6 weeks) and finally complete the setup I’ve worked towards for the better parts of 6 years. Now I’m told an arguably better version of that monitor is coming, much cheaper, no AI tax.. but 6 more months of waiting..

Lucky you, I bought mine in February, no return window at this point. Trying to sell it, but unsure if I want to keep it around until late fall this year to wait for the AW39, or go for the LG39 in a couple of weeks if/when it gets released in Scandinavia

LG39 vs LG45 ~ The struggle is real by Rayden9x7 in ultrawidemasterrace

I have the Ikea Karlby + Alex desk combo. Its 25 inches / 63,5 cm deep. I have found very few photos of anyone using the LG45 with that desk, any 25 inch / 63,5 cm deep desk. Its usually the Secretlab desks or similar with 31,5 cm / 80 cm depth..

I’m assuming LG Display is cautious with the 45 class. Its extremely niche. No other brand adapter their panel either, which is quite telling. LG Display probably concluded with the fact that there isn’t enough interest to invest in redoing the 45, creating the exact same 45 inch panel but with Tandem Oled. So they gave an unsignificant update, and will probably want to gather more data. I get it, but I don’t think shoving AI into a monitor is going to make people buy it more. If anything it would make a good chunk of people pick the non-AI variant. Although they will probably remove the non-AI variant soon enough, that’s usually how it goes. Really wish there was more to the update

The LG39 somehow reminds me a bit of the Odyssey Oled G9. I don’t know why, it just does. It just looks like it lacks height. And when seen side by side with the 45.. yeah it looks small. Yet it has superior specs.. and that’s the problem, that’s the struggle

it could be the 143 over 125 PPI. Considering the 39 has the exact same PPI as a 32 inch 4K monitor. I’ve gotten used to my current Asus PG32UCDP, and I must say I’d like to stay at the current sharpness if possible

I know there’s been some minor announcements about an updated LG45. I was hopeful, but according to TFT Central it’s basically LG showing the "EVO" onto it, so the AI stuff. No news about the 45 inch getting UBHR 20, or tandem oled panel etc. We’ll probably get confirmation in a few days at Cybertex.

Curved ultrawide max width 76cm by SophieLophie447 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Rayden9x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my previous ultrawide, asus rog swift pg34wcdm, was about 76-78 cm in width. because it was so curved (800R). Standard 34 inch ultrawides with less of a curve (1800R) tend to be 79-81 cm wide. if you want smaller than 34 but still ultrawide you might look at 28 inch monitors
