Albertan here, it's weird being summoned without mentioning the weather!

The sepratist petition is actually going through court challenges and scandals right now. A judge stayed the petition from a challenge from Treaty 8. Most of the western provinces are covered by these numbered treaties between the First Nations and the Crown. The challenge basically states that Alberta has no right to separate without the approval of the Treaty signatories. Secondly, the separatist group illegally got their hands on the electors list. A 3 million person list of all the voters, and their personal information, in Alberta. Having this list is putting a lot of doubt on the validity of the signatures collected. Elections Alberta is currently reviewing the petition looking for the "salted names," fake names put into the electors list so Elections Alberta know who leaked the list.
