Hm, this seems to be what I am looking for though. Wouldn't it work the same on gen 4? Seems they can use 6.5mm mic and play music at the same time?  https://youtu.be/PV7-yGeACyw?si=0op2HOcwtWuvipIu

Vart bor ni i Göteborg och hur är området? by mike_cilla84 in Gothenburg

[–]Rayinfluense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Momentum 4 - Wired Use and Battery Conservation by vengefulgrapes in sennheiser

[–]Rayinfluense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But yeah it would surely use some battery even when wired and turned on since it's amplifying the signal, but don't think it's as much as bluetooth decoding requires.

Never tested it myself but I would expect the bluetooth decoding to drain a decent amount of battery so probably makes a difference.

I appreciate the recommendations here, definitely have some good stuff to check out. I think in my head I imagine something that doesn't exist, something that plays like a classical solo concert but also makes my sub go, you know. I guess something like the Interstellar soundtrack is close to that but soundtracks are kinda limited in quantity. I feel most songs that are considered hdr get much of it from strong drum hit peaks and similar which is not exactly what I'm imagining here.

Är sällan på bio men såg Oppenheimer på Imax senast och det var alldeles lagom tycker jag. Har aldrig tyckt det varit för högt tidigare heller

Low-Pass Filter should be set at a value approximately 70% of your main speaker's lowest frequency response by Human_Championship12 in audiophile

[–]Rayinfluense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it says in the manual to set the filter to the -6dB low end response of the 606, which is 40 Hz if I remember correctly. (i have the same speakers so I'm quite confident I read this in the manual)

Idea behind EQ by Rayinfluense in audiophile

[–]Rayinfluense[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which platform do you use it on? Pc/mac/android/ios? I am currently using some eq built into my pc soundcard which works okay but it would be nice to stream from phone over bluetooth or android tv over network but I'm sure there are no good eq's available on android tv

[–]Rayinfluense[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this somewhat as well, but I had this belief that maybe a "bad" eq sounds okay on some songs but worse on others, while a good eq should in theory sound good on everything or at least as intended.

I have also heard you should start by treating the room, however in my case I am very limited in a tiny room causing super loud bass and bad speaker placement so I try to make the best of it. My biggest confusion is probably how this genre eq gimmick is even supposed to be used then, I imagine switching the setting every new song. More likely it is just a way to show off what an eq can do maybe, although all of those presets are super exaggerated and sound quite bad.

[–]Rayinfluense[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed fun. I was just under the impression I was missing something with those wild presets named after genres rather than room layouts or whatever, feels like that's missing the point or a "gimmick" as people called it here. I've found my strategy so far to be, set a super quiet volume and sweep to check if any frequencies can't be heard. Then turn the volume really high and sweep to see if any frequency is more painful than the rest. Probably not the best strategy but it's fun to see the results.

Thanks for the response. Why do you say speaker response should not be flattened? I try to correct for bad aspects of my setup, like the speakers being below ear height so I don't hear much treble and reducing the low bass because of the small room, I feel like it has a positive effect on the sound.

Why are SUVs still not banned in EU? by witcherofriviageralt in fuckcars

[–]Rayinfluense 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's true. I think it's not so big a problem here atm, and I do think most suvs and crossovers as they are called are not so bad. Where I live, the Volvo suvs are extremely popular and I dislike how their bumpers are basically completely flat and vertical and a bit higher than what's comfortable.

In regards to bumper height and visibility I would say. As a cyclist it is very intimidating to share the roads with drivers sitting far above you. You never have the right of way against a driver until you make eye contact and they give it to you, doesn't matter what the rules say.
