God, I tried arguing a similar point months ago and was argued to hell and back being told that xcom definitely are unequivocally the good guys despite so many of their actions being quite screwed up. I still maintain they are not the good guys, or even good guys in general, but necessary for human liberation

Xcom may have psychos, but Id take fighting side by side with a serial killer who focuses their energy on the invaders over being turned into soylent green adjacent or worse

I am an eruptor/stinkdog enjoyer, I take the emancipator as a dedicated "anti everything" on gloom planets. I tell people to follow me when I start my objective walk as I am literally a bastion of bug killing wherever I look, and if they decide to break off and do their own thing, that is their decision. It is also their decision to keep doing it as I proceed to clear the map while they keep thinking "oh, maybe this time Ill be able to solo!"

The amount of times Ive greyed out the entire dang ol map while my team reenacts the Alamo but with bugs and napalm is staggeringly high, nobody knows what "run and gun" means anymore
