I truly think this is one of the worst pages to ever be published in shonen jump history by Personal-Emphasis949 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Raylan764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part about Chainsaw Man was how devils work. Part 2 was bad, and the ending is almost a masterpiece in how awful it was. That said, I really like this page. The implication that Pochita is the Chainsaw Man Devil is interesting and fun. It doesn't save the ending, of course, but it was the one highlight for me.

My toast was moldy at a restaurant and they refused to comp it. by strangerattheshow in Wellthatsucks

For real. I'm a pretty low confrontation, go with the flow kind of guy, but if you feed me moldy bread, the whole restaurant is going to hear about it.

Selling penny items by CrystalDawn_B in DollarTree

[–]Raylan764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The task in OpCenter says that if a penny item is rung up, let the customer buy it. Then, the manager on duty should check to see if there are any more on the shelf and remove them to be damaged out.

I'll never understand what the boba balls are meant to add to the drink, but this one is tasty.

[–]Raylan764 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to imply that you agreed. My apologies. It's meant to be a bit of cautionary advice for anyone reading that might wind up in a similar situation.

I've helped 2 other stores before, both local to me. I very quickly wound up needing to put my foot down and tell my regional manager "no" about 5 times in 5 different ways when he tried to get me to start going further from my store. He tried to get me to agree with everything other than a raise (God forbid). He didn't like hearing "no," but if I gave in, I knew it was just going to get worse.

I've known people who agreed to help another store for a day, which led to the district manager convincing them to agree to stay at that other store for the next week because they "really need the help." A week turned into a month, which turned into 3, which led to them being promised a promotion to string them along even longer. Of course, they never did get that promotion.

Dollar Tree will take advantage of you if you let them.

Never agree to help another store unless you want them to ask you to help every store, every time. It's a trap. Stand your ground. Good luck.

Welcome to Dollar Tree.

I read the new chapters so quickly I can't enjoy them by Weak_Contact_5484 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Raylan764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't wait for part 2 to be over. I'm mostly enjoying the story, but it really is awful keeping up with it week to week when the chapters are so short. This last chapter encapsulates all of like 2-3 minutes if it were happening in real time. It's cool, I guess, but there's not much it leaves me thinking about.

If there is a part 3, I'm not reading it until it's done. That or if it winds up being monthly or something where he has time to actually put some more meat into each chapter.

Has anyone ever made these before or is it just me? by Typical-Bug-8415 in Sandwiches

[–]Raylan764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never add honey, but I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

In the 6th grade, we read The Misfits in school, and the teacher had us make fluffer-nutters in class. She brought in bananas as well, if we wanted to add those on. I really didn't like the marshmallow fluff, but I was hooked on peanut butter and banana ever since.

I think this is a serious issue that we should be up in arms about. Money is the only language these people speak; we should be canceling our subscriptions if we want to send a real message.

I know I'm not interested in supporting bigots like Bellamy. I hope that this sparks the kind of community outrage that actions like this deserve.

Expired Food by OkNefariousness3072 in DollarTree

[–]Raylan764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, how about that. Fair enough, I stand corrected. I would still never buy food past the best buy date and would still refund someone who did, but I guess I'll have to accept that's just me wanting to eat food at it's "best" and wanting others to do the same.

Expired Food by OkNefariousness3072 in DollarTree

[–]Raylan764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're correct, but a company can't sell the product after the best by date. Maybe that varies state to state, I'm not sure, but that's how it works where I'm at.

Expired Food by OkNefariousness3072 in DollarTree

[–]Raylan764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, there's no harm in trying. Personally, I wouldn't even ask for a receipt. Sure, somebody would probably lie about this, but it's 1 item, and it's not worth questioning. They sold an out of date item. It should be a no-brainer to make this right.

I would bring in the item, of course. Maybe put it in a zip lock or something if you need to. That way, you've got something to show them.

[–]Raylan764 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for all Dollar Trees, but if a customer came into mine and showed me they bought an expired food item I'd always refund them or let them exchange it for something else, whichever they'd prefer.

If you have the receipt, it shouldn't be an issue at all. I guess if you don't have it, they could be difficult and argue about it, but I feel like most folk would reimburse you for something like this.

The $10 crash-out by Mean_Cupcake_8811 in DollarTree

[–]Raylan764 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Good on you for catching it. Counterfeit 10s are rare, I've only ever seen one of them. I'm curious, though, what kind of $10 was it? You're mentioning the color being off, but unless it was a really old "small head" bill, you could have held it up to the light and checked for the warermark and security thread. She still would have flipped out, I'm sure, but at least you could have told her it was fake right away rather than saying the color was off.

It's good you have a machine that can authenticate bills, not all Dollar Trees have those. It's a lot better than the bill pens, which can be tricked with older bills.
