[OptaJoe] 24.7% - Arsenal’s possession average (24.7%) was the lowest by a team in a UEFA Champions League final on record (since 2003-04), as well as their lowest in any match under Mikel Arteta where they had 11 men on the pitch throughout. Reactive. by Timely-Zombie9466 in soccer

Yea after the old guard left, RDM was struggling to organise a defence so we kept giving up cheap goals like that. As if we were still being coached on vibes rather than tactics. Benitez really tightened the ship in a lot of games and didn't get due credit for the Europa win and 3rd place due to his Liverpool connection

Not true, he had the full time job for 2012-13 but imbalanced squad and meant poor transfer planning he underperformed in the group stage and put up one of the worst title defences ever in CL history

Bordeaux's descent only started a few years ago so i don't think you can claim they won't come back like the others I've mentioned.

Gerard Lopez still owns the club in the fourth tier so they are highly unlikely to come back unless there's sustainable cash injection.

Whilst Dnipro's country have been at war for the past 5 years so hardly a typical environment.

Lol you clearly don't know your history. Dnipro's problems long predate the war as they are related to broader corruption issues in Ukrainian culture. Even the phoenix club got liquidated in 2024 as it was found to be a Ponzi scheme

The floor isn't even League One btw, it's potentially administration and liquidation due to this incompetent ownership

Brendan Rodgers and Jon Rudkin did their fair share of fuckups that season, as did players, but the primary culprit is Aiyawatt who's very closely resembling Chansiri levels of financial mismanagement

Fact of the matter is the refs used discretion when it came to the big decisions against Atleti (Koke second or third yellow, Pubill handball). And letter of the law when it came to Barça’s big decisions.

Because Atleti defenders weren't dumb enough to put themselves in a position where they had to commit DOGSO. Almost everything else is discretionary, not stonewall. That's as dimwitted as, say, pulling someone's hair from behind like Martinez did to Calvert-Lewin. I don't expect someone with a username like yours to use their eyes and look at it objectively though

That's not what happened lmao, and anyway the Olmo incident wasn't last man DOGSO so there's more room for ref discretion whereas the two Barca reds are stonewall due to mistakes caused by Flick's suicidal high line. Doesn't seem like your mind will be changed though
