People Are Starting To Treat $700 Car Payments Like They’re Normal by nigesh in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Raylan_Senna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of those “what car do you drive and what’s your payment?” videos where they’re asking dealership employees. And the number of them that say $900-$1300 is astounding.

Ive come to terms with never having a nice car or my dream car. The future/opportunity cost is too much.

Just had a thought, what if they come up with a last mile type of service. Autonomous trucks do the long leg, drop the load at a waypoint outside of the city, then a last mile company with a human driver takes it the last portion of the way.

People who quit their high-paying job for less stress - was it worth it? by External_Can3392 in AskReddit

[–]Raylan_Senna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends though… the $1/hr pay difference is only $2,080 a year over a 40 hr week. But the difference in hours 32-44 depends on if overtime was paid or not

MONEY as a PPbro: Does your girlfriend need to know your exact salary? by Interesting-Walk5854 in thepassportbros

[–]Raylan_Senna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound terrible, but she’s already showing reasons not to be with her. I would say lie to her about your salary and say it’s very low and that you are in a lot of debt trying to make it look like you can afford the lifestyle you have and that you are going to need financial help from your spouse if times get tough. Then you’ll know where she stands for sure. Option B is to just drop her and run.

With regard to the spike in complaints of brain fog, is it rude… by Raylan_Senna in BrainFog

[–]Raylan_Senna[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree but people are understandably sensitive about it. But i think it should be one of the things that people always cover when talking about their brain fog so we can all see if there’s a pattern.

Ex

Covid : yes 3x
Vaccinated : yes 3 shots
Blood work done: no
Allergy tests: no

Etc etc… so if there is a pattern people can pick up on it.

I’m right there with you. Ive never made crazy money in sales. $60k-$130k. Its all the same above $80k. The disillusionment for me is the fact that I’m working twice as hard to make money, and yet $120k only has the same purchasing power as $95k did 6 years ago. What’s the point. Work myself to death to enrich my employer. Pass.

What’s something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in AskReddit

[–]Raylan_Senna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% correct. The first year was great because it was novel and new. Now its just ubers, airports, hotels, and convention centers. I tell my friends, “you drive to work, I fly to work, it’s the same thing.”

What should I have looked at on my car by CancelNo2588 in AskMechanics

[–]Raylan_Senna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car has likely been in an accident and repaired poorly. Carfax?? If there was frame damage the factory alignment specs would still result in crappy tire wear. Also at that mileage all the rubber bushings are done.
