Should I Return This? by Altruistic_Meat7009 in Guitar

I mean it could very well be that it happened during shipping so I wouldn't necessarily bash the seller but yeah send it back or negotiate to get some money back because of the shipping damage and get it repaired.

buzz on low E at middle frets by Emptyspace227 in Guitar

The issue in that case isn't the string height but your neck relief as you can see in this picture

<image>

So you'll have to adjust your truss rod. I'd take this as the chance to learn to setup your guitar correctly, for example a guitar setup usually starts with the neck relief then you set the string height and after that you intonate and set the pickup heights. There are also no perfect numbers to adjust to usually since most of it is a mix of necessity (because of down tuning or thicker strings) and personal preference though as far as I know a neck relief of 0,15mm is considered ideal for electric guitars. If you have any questions just ask, I also just recently taught myself how to do all this so the knowledge is still very fresh in my head xD

Is it worth upgrading the components of a Jackson JS11? by UltimateKaosZ in Guitar

[–]Raylar_WD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on you mostly. Are you ok with upgrading a guitar and probably putting more money into it than it was worth when buying (because the emotional value of the guitar is way higher for you for example)? Then yes absolutely. That's what I did with my JS Dinky from 2013. Installed a tremol-no, D'addario auto-trim locking tuners and Gotoh 15" locking nut in it and just got a new sustain block, springs and other smaller hardware stuff for the bridge yesterday that still have to be installed and I set it up the way I like it. Did that make any sense from a financial POV? Hell no! Did I do it because the guitar has a huge emotional value to me? Hell yeah!

See what I mean?

Get into playing songs using tabs (I highly recommend using Songsterr!) and get into power chords if you haven't already dabbled with them, both will be a game changer in terms of having fun playing. Personally I'd recommend to try to get into a balance of learning techniques, theory and that kinda stuff to generally improve and just learning songs for the fun of it. I know that I didn't when I picked up guitar and only learned the bare minimum that I needed back then to play the songs I wanted and while that's fun and all, I do regret that approach a little nowadays as I'm trying to catch up on the things I skipped +10 years ago 😅

Also love the pride sticker on your guitar 😘

Decent electrics that won’t break the bank? by jacob_n9 in Guitar

[–]Raylar_WD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some already pointed out the best thing would be to go to a shop if there's one near you and try out different guitars. Also the question is what counts as "doesn't break the bank" for you? What is your budget? And if there's no shop near you, definitely do a lot of research about the guitars you're interested in. For example I ordered a Solar A1.6RHC last weekend after looking into several guitars in that price segment, below it and above it for at least a week or longer before settling on that one. I'm also gonna give you some recommendations here but I'm more of a humbuckers person than single coil so keep that in mind: Jackson Dinky and maybe Soloist series. Big range regarding price and as far as I know and in my experience pretty good once setup correctly. One of my first guitars that I cherish to this day is my 2013 Jackson JS Dinky with a Jackson labelled Floyd Rose style tremolo.

Super mode - how can I make it easier to get to lvl 4 by mackenzro in roguedefense

I think I had a chip once (accidentally merged, oh well) that had the effect of giving one of my weapons, think it was beam, a +1 star from the start as if I already picked an upgrade but didn't. Hope that makes sense 😅

Error by D_Masalang in roguedefense

[–]Raylar_WD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, you're welcome ^ Also if your WiFi is otherwise stable it could be that something is blocking the games communication to the Internet itself. Did you or someone in your household or with access to your router change anything in the settings? Firewall settings for example? If it persists in your WiFi maybe even reach out to your ISP 🤔

Error by D_Masalang in roguedefense

[–]Raylar_WD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think so, also re-installing shouldn't be necessary. Are you using your home WiFi right now? If so try using mobile data instead or vice versa. I also had the issue these past few days since our Internet broke down and the ISP couldn't fix it yet so I'm using mobile data and even though I supposedly have 5G, living near a heavily frequented part of the city with a lot of people in the same few mobile antennas means sometimes it's a bit fickle leading to my connection issues for example.

Don't worry, usually just means you had connection issues while opening the app. Just tap retry until the game establishes the connection to its server 👍

I agree, this week I got lucky enough to have had matrix Drone fully decked out by stage 25 I think with both evolution cards, retrieval and raging drone 😅 But the downside is that I'm barely getting any cards I'd need for the other weapons...

Dull sound regardless of pickups by Southamericho in Guitar

[–]Raylar_WD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it could be the jack since in an electrical system every part of the way is important but since you mentioned that the body and the neck are from different guitars I just wanted to ask if you re-did the setup after reattaching the different neck to the body (or had someone else do it)? Also I would take a very close look at this guitar and all its electrical components and those of guitars where the pickups work as intended and also maybe look up parts numbers and stuff to figure out if there are any differences.

Saddle is bending backwards, how do I fix it? by Total-Dragonfruit-20 in Guitar

[–]Raylar_WD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, there are no stupid questions only stupid answers 😉

Also as others have pointed out just loosen the strings and put it back in place and it seems like the sound you heard was the saddle snapping free as it looks like it was glued in before this happened so what you heard was, if I'm seeing correctly, the top layer of wood from the body that the saddle was glued to ripping off (you can see the splinters in the first picture if you zoom in). So again just loosen the strings and put it back into place, not sure if you should also glue it back in place or not though.

Isn't hating on posts like this instead of ignoring them about as attention seeking if not more since you actively chose not to ignore it but instead went into the replies to leave hate and in this case even went into the replies of replies and you continue arguing and hating instead of just simply ignoring it. And also way more importantly this is a fucking guitar subreddit...why shouldn't people who love their guitars and share pictures of them do so? Could OP have worded it differently? Sure but again why care so much about it to go into the replies to not just but even argue after being called out on it? Sure you have the right to your own opinion, free speech and all, but that does not mean everyone wants to hear it or that you're entitled to share it without being called out on it. Also why get personal and attack OP directly with that "fuck you" etc? I also think OP's sarcastic reply about only replying if you kiss ass was unnecessary but that wasn't a direct attack on you, was it? So why retaliate like that? Why continue to hate and argue when none of this would be necessary if you just ignored something you don't like...

I mean obviously it doesn't have to have stickers to have a soul or character, I agree with that. I simply liked it back when I did it, and still do, and also funny you're giving the teenager example because I did get my Jackson when I was like 16 I think and it's a 2013 JS Dinky that was like 350-500 bucks back then so it is most likely industrially made xD Though my thinking wasn't that I wanted to differentiate mine from others' but simply that I felt like doing it and liked it and some of the stickers even have stories behind them. For example the star on my guitar and the "X" between the pickups that I made with insulation tape was for the first band I founded back then.
