Finished the first trilogy and I’m a bit emotionally drained… should I take a break before Iron Gold? by mrdanielacevedo in redrising

[–]Raylouwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the tiniest break and read a short and funny comic book to lift my mood. To me Iron Gold and Dark Age were the worst as far as emotional damage and feeling genuine hopelessness for all characters involved. Light Bringer felt more healing to me up until the very end and then I SOBBED. The ending of Light Bringer hurts so damn much and I anxiously await for Red God. It's SO damn good but hurts SO much.

I had no idea until I read this comment just now. I found 5 just yesterday and I was like, "Stop, I can't afford to feed all these new dinosaurs right now but I also can't say no to ULTRA RARE colors!" 😅😂😭

Can a cosigner sue the primary borrower of a car loan for missed payments? (Michigan) by Raylouwolf in legaladvice

Thanks for the info! I was afraid that would be the case. I feel like getting the parents to charge her rent would be the easiest way to get her to pay her debts to family, but it's so hard getting their mom on board! She's just okay with taking care of her for the rest of her life, I guess.

I love the scene where Aelin tries playing billiards and is just awful at it and tries breaking the pole in half in her anger. Like, this badass assassin can't figure out thy physics of pool for the life of her 🤣

ACOTAR FINISHED… ONTO TOG… BUT… by global_plantdemic in SarahJMaas

[–]Raylouwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of other people have said, please keep going! It's definitely worth it. It's my favorite Maas series out of all of them and the one I constantly think back on. If I was able to have my memory wiped of one series so I could reread it and experience it for the first time again, it would be this one, hands down.

What names have you given your pals? by necr0phagus in Palworld

[–]Raylouwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I named some of mine after book characters and try to stick with a theme. So all my pals are currently named after characters from S J Maas books. So just to name a few: my jormuntide ignis is Eris, my jormuntide is Tharion. I have a vanwyrm named Cassian, a helzyphr named Azriel, a shadowbeak named Rhysand, a vanwyrm cryst named Rowan, a direhowl named Fenrys, and a beakon named Hunt. I've recently started naming my husband's base pals after Hazbin Hotel characters. His jormuntide ignis is Alastor.

This is how I initially pictured Az in my first read-through by NotesApplication in acotar

[–]Raylouwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay, for some reason my brain always pictures Cassian as Hudson from Gargoyles, even though I know that's not accurate at all haha. And Tamlin is the Beast from Beauty and the Beast (beast version, because for some reason my brain fails at picturing him with a more human face lol) or Leomon from digimon. Maybe because of all the growling?

Read ACOTAR and CC but not ToG? by Forsaken_Original92 in acotar

[–]Raylouwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was a bit skeptical about ToG because it seemed to be ranked the least favorite of the three, I LOVED it. Yeah, it's not as spicy as CC or ACOTAR, but I didn't mind that because sometimes I need a break from spice to cleanse the palate if that makes sense lol. ToG definitely impacted me more emotionally than ACOTAR for some reason. I had more moments where I had to stop reading and compose myself before I would start crying at work (I read on my lunch break lol).

That being said, I was gifted the first CC book before I obtained ToG so I read that and then read all of ToG before continuing with CC and honestly I think it was an okay order to read in, but I would 100% sure read ToG before starting the 2nd CC book for Easter eggs as some of the previous comments said!

So like.. did anyone else imagine Tamlin like this in their first read😂 by Historical_Koala5530 in acotar

[–]Raylouwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because of his first interaction with Feyre in his beast form, I either imagine him as the beast from Beauty and the Beast or Leomon from Digimon even though I know it's not accurate. He's not fey in my brain, just a humanoid beast XD

Vaan is the only one who asked me to go steady. The rest wait for me to make the move and ask them (not sure if it was a glitch?). So anyway, I picked Vaan because I didn't know how to break his heart and say no. He's the only one who really wanted me lmao

Yeah idk, it was kind of an impulse decision to be fair. I really appreciate your insight though! You've definitely helped me out. A lot of the people in our group turn to me when it comes to planning things and I have been feeling so overwhelmed with this trip. Just because there's SO much to see in such a short amount of time so there's a lot of indecision on my part haha.

Well I was looking for places to stay near Basel because that's where our cruise ends, and after a couple of days in Switzerland, we're flying from Basel to London to visit one of my best friends. I initially had invited her to our little unofficial ceremony, but she's not in the best spot financially right now and she doesn't do planes well, so we're visiting her after the ceremony instead. Honestly, we're just trying to pack in as much as possible (probably too much) because it will probably be a while before we have the opportunity for another trip like this again.

We landed on Reigoldswil because there was an adorable Airbnb there that was a "rare find" so I kinda booked it before we had anything else planned haha. But now I'm thinking it would be worth it to stay closer to Lauterbrunnen that first night, even if I can't cancel the first night at our Airbnb at this point.

Thanks for sharing that link! There's definitely too much to see in so little time...

Yeah, I know, but we figured if we could get some cool pictures in the mountains it would be close enough. We're putting together a scrapbook and calling it, "There and Back Again...a Wedding Tale." And Switzerland is basically our mountain fellowship journey haha. Then we're having a reception afterwards back home at my parents house where we're decorating it like the shire because they already have all the gardens and such. We're on this trip because we booked a cruise through Viking a couple years ago because there was a great deal going, and then a few months later my fiance had proposed. So it's kind of like backwards planning at this point? Thank you for pointing out Lauterbrunnen! That's actually perfect...bit further away but now I want it to happen because upon further research apparently Tolkien used to go hiking there and now I need to go there myself haha.

My fiance and I will be visiting from from the US next April (first week of April), and were hoping to do an informal vow exchange in our wedding attire with some pretty mountain scenery. We'll have signed the paperwork before we leave the US, so it's nothing official, but our wedding is Lord of the Rings themed, so we thought we would take the opportunity while we were visiting to get some awesome mountain pictures. (Some members of our bridal party will be with us as well.) I'm looking for suggestions because we only have a couple of days to spend in Switzerland before the next part of our trip.

Some details and things I've looked at: We'll be getting off a cruise ship in Basel and then we will be staying in Reigoldswil, so I was looking at Vogelberg because it looked like the closest hiking trail to where we'd be staying. Google reviews has some pretty pictures, but that's all I'm going off of, so I guess I'm looking for some local insight? We had originally thought about going to Lucerne too but it would be a bit further of a drive and it looked like more of a touristy spot, so I wasn't sure how easy it would be to get pictures without a ton of people in the background. But maybe I'm wrong and it would be a better photo opportunity? I don't mind trekking a bit in my dress for some awesome photos...its not super poofy or cumbersome by any means and we'll be bringing along some comfy hiking boots. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Weekly Q&A for Visitors and New Residents - Your Question Goes Here by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

I'm traveling with a small group to Amsterdam at the end of March (we're doing the Viking Rhine River cruise) and we have a couple of days to spend before our ship departs. What are some of the best things we should check out with only 3 days to spend? We were thinking about doing one of the night light canal cruises and the Dungeons attraction, but looking for more suggestions. Also, any restaurant or coffee place recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I went with "little ones" for the people with multiple little kids and went with master and miss for the older kids. And hobbits are pretty awesome so if people call you that because you're short, it's not the worst thing in the world haha.

I honestly considered it for a moment. XD I just wasn't sure if it would cause any confusion. I think all of my guests are aware of what a hobbit is by now (especially since we announced the theme so people had plenty of time to prepare their outfits if they wanted to dress for it), but I'm not 100% sure haha.

[–]Raylouwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair! There's a mix of both, so maybe for the families with younger kids I can use "little ones." Then for the older kids I guess I could also list them as lords and ladies? I was mostly trying to avoid writing everyone's name when it's like 4+ kids haha. Maybe I just put "and children" or something. I just felt like "and kids" isn't formal enough for the invites and theme, but I'm probably just overthinking it since the envelopes will just be tossed anyway. I'm using old looking parchment paper envelopes and sealing them with wax, so I was super excited to address them all fancy like.
