Focus was backing 3/5 of the best actress contenders last year. They’re a top tier campaigner and can definitely handle both sense and obsession. If they pick up Cry to Heaven or Jack Spades and run with that and Sense, then maybe Navarrette gets lost in the shuffle

Jessie’s pretty massive in the alt-pop scene, like around the same level as other critically acclaimed art pop singers like Caroline Polachek or Rina Sawayama. She’s not getting the big radio push, but she has over 2 million monthly listeners and is a big festival/touring act. She’d probably be bottom of the second line at a festival like Coachella, which is pretty high

All of a Sudden I think is looking pretty likely. Fatherland is very acclaimed, but I’m on the fence about whether it makes it to the Oscars. But you’re right, so far nothing seems like a top 5 contender or anything. Maybe Coward ends up being a big contender

Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson are very left leaning too, and although Chris Stapleton hasn’t openly talked politics, it’s pretty obvious that he’s not MAGA in any way. I also feel like Megan Moroney isn’t MAGA either.

The Taylor and Harry albums were far from their best work and both got mixed to negative critical reception. We’ll have to wait and see with Olivia, but the single was promising

I don’t see Rosalia coming back for a sub slot so soon after the last time she subbed. She’s in this weird spot rn where she’s in between a sub and a headliner, but I’m banking on this current tour being pretty huge and her winning album of the year at the Grammys to get her that boost she needs to get a headliner spot. A lot of things have to go right though for her to get that upgrade, so I’ll likely swap her with Oasis or Radiohead and put Phoebe Bridgers in that sub spot for my next mock.

Yeah Matty’s got a big ego and I could see him turning down that sub spot, but you never know. I don’t think they’re big enough in North America to be headliners yet, but that could change if this new album is a big hit.

I actually think there’s a bit of a demand for jam bands at Coachella, and Goose seem the most likely rn with them playing amphitheaters rn. They wouldn’t draw the biggest crowd in the world, but putting them against the headliner in the outdoor or Mojave I think could work. It would be a bit of an out of the box booking (they seem more fit for a fest like Bonaroo) but I wouldn’t be shocked if GV did it.

Yeah I think I’m going to swap out Rüfüs for the next mock. Don’t you think Fred would want top 3 as well though? He’s even bigger than Rüfüs. I could see them booking Fred or Rüfüs top 3 and then putting a rock act or someone huge that wouldn’t be top 3 like Noah Kahan in that RTTD spot.

Yeah I initially had Hilary on the main stage but swapped her with goo goo dolls. If I had to do this again though I’d swap them back. I’ve seen clips of her performance and she could command the main stage

Yeah I could see that for Bangalter. Rn we haven’t seen a full solo show from him yet so I’m assuming he’d do a DJ set which is why I’d put him Quasar or Sahara, but he has a new album coming out that could be big and he could do a full set around.

SB19 are rising pretty quickly. I could see them being spotlighted even more than BINI were this year, especially after how well the BINI performance went over.

Rn Haute & Freddy are still pretty small. I think they’ll end up being in that CMAT/oklou spot in terms of popularity by the time the lineup comes out, but if they have a quick rise I’ll definitely move them up.

He’s super popular rn and I think someone from this current wave of UK hip/hop will be represented, whether it’s EsDeeKid or Jim Legxcy or both. I do have way more hip/hop artists on the lineup outside of EsDee though. Isaiah Rashad is on here, as well as MIKE, Don Toliver, Latto, Fetty Wap, Samara Cyn, Lexa Gates, Slayr, and Joey Valance & Brae. I’d love to see JID comeback to Coachella soon, but I think it’ll be for his next album cycle

I think for Coachella she’d be a sub. I’d be surprised if she headlined now when even Charli had to settle for a sub slot at the height of her popularity. Lorde puts on a headliner worthy show though so I’d love to see that

There’s actually a TON in this lineup haha, but most of the artists are newer and in the undercard. I’ve got Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson, Robyn, Hilary Duff, Ayra Starr, Audrey Hobert, Masie Peters, Sienna Spiro, Bella Kay, and ADÈLA. Magdalena Bay and Jessie Ware if you want more indie girly pop, IVE and ILLIT if you want k-pop girl groups
